Nice cruise to see somethings we had not seen before. Going with family made it special.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
I gave it a poor rating only because not every part of the food and drink were terrible. The "Land and Sea" entre on the second formal night was the best of the lot - it was just average.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The best activities were the line dancing classes and the stretch exercise classes but there wasn't much else to do if you were looking for activities. Sitting and reading was always an option. The pool was not often used even when the weather was good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
If you like entertainment, book another ship! The headliners in the main theater would have been club acts on other ships.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward was average (no towel animals!) and attentive. The dining room staff was inconsistent. We had one waiter (Alex) who sang and told jokes. Others forgot we were there. The line dancing instructor and the fitness room director were outstanding. Everyone else was average.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smaller than on other ships it took a couple of days to figure out how to use the space to our best advantage. With only one electrical plug, we asked for an extension cord. The curtained shower is very tight and it is good that it is a movable surface so that you can bend and expand into the space as necessary. The balcony was nice.

Ship tip

Get the daily activity paper and use it along with the activities on the app. They are different and the app can be very confusing.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Falmouth, Jamaica

Cartagena, Colombia

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

Colon, Panama

3 out of 5
We did not really see Colon as it was just a pick-up place for the ship to retrieve us from our Panama Canal excursion to Panama City.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

4 out of 5
Not booking an excursion, we just walked off the ship and did some shopping in the craft market within our port boundary which was fun. Just outside the marketplace was a public park which was wonderful to sit in and watch children play and catch up on email. The park has a police presence so we felt safe although there are a few people who will want to point out the wildlife in the trees for you (I bet expecting a tip for their "service"). It was lovely, calm afternoon enjoying the sight and sound of the crashing waves in a lovely park setting.

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
We went ashore in a water shuttle (3 minutes) and walked around town. It was a Sunday so not much was open. We managed to spend money anyway. (smile)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super easy since we were in the last group off so no problem finding luggage and customs lines were short.

Thanks for the tip; if I want a Carnival like cruise, I will book a Carnival cruise.

Carnival has towel animals. Can't believe Princess was that bad, sorry.

Just an FYI we have been cruising since 2007 with Princess and never have seen a towel animal in our cabin.
