We chose Princess because they offer music geared towards the older generations, more than other cruise lines, and they didn't disappoint us. I would go on Princess again just for this reason alone.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation went smooth however, even though we did all the pre-cruise registration requirements and were in the "green" line, there was still a very long line but it went quite fast and smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffet food was very good. The biggest disappointment of the whole cruise was that we didn't make reservations for Any Time Dining in the main dining room early enough so when we did try we could only get reservations to sit at a table with other people which we didn't want to do. We did get a late reservation one night and the food and service was excellent. We couldn't get reservations into any of the specialty restaurants and were told you have to do it before your cruise while still at home. We did get a table at the Italian specialty restaurant, when we walked in late one evening. My husband had something called the Trio and I had a seafood that was prepared in parchment paper. We didn't like the food at all and wouldn't go back. The main dining room and buffet food was so much better.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Although we don't participate in many of the onboard activities, there seemed to be plenty available at all times and people seemed to be enjoying them. The main reason we went on Princess Cruise is they play more of the Oldie Goldie type music than other cruise lines and they didn't disappoint us. The music was very enjoyable.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We love the Oldie Goldie type music that Princess offers more than other cruise lines. Carlos Oscar was the comedian and he was EXCELLENT. We went to both of his shows. Would highly recommend seeing him and his comedy is family friendly so you can take the kids, but very funny to all ages.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service was the highlight of our cruise. We had a drink package included with our reservation and the staff was there at every turn offering us drinks. I would have expected different since they weren't making any extra money from us but they were always there asking what we wanted. Much better than other cruise lines. Job, our cabin steward, couldn't have been any better, attentive but not bothersome. Dining and buffet room service was also excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Caribbean Princess is an older ship however It was immaculately clean. We found it to be harder to navigate around than other ships. We are getting older and that might be part of the problem but we were constantly lost.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was was clean and spacious. We paid for a balcony cabin however they upgraded our cabin 3 times so we didn't stay in the cabin we were assigned and we ended up getting a suite that we didn't pay for. I enjoyed that extra space and more private bath and closet area it gave us.
Ship tip
Make your dining reservations before you embark on your cruise. We didn't and it was our biggest disappointment.
