Caribbean Princess

7 Night Eastern Caribbean With St. Kitts (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 02, 2022

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Review summary

I have waited years to do a princess cruise, believing it to be the a top line cruise. I was so disappointed. I have cruised at least five other lines, and although it was better than Carnival, it was not the luxury I expected. I will probably not choose Princess again, when I have other choices. It was like they did the bare minimum in every way. It was like a Carnival cruise at a Princess price.

Ship experiences

Food was disappointing in quality and variety. Some restaurants were not open. You could not make any reservations because of a system glitch, so we were very limited in choices.

Not much to do. Adult pool was nice.

Sorry you were disappointed but from many reviews I have been reading is that the Princess Quality has gone down. Hopefully this is not true as I’m booked on Caribbean Princess cruise this August. I enjoyed in past cruises on Regal and Royal which have a great crew and fine restaurants like the Crown Grill. Never tried carnival so I can’t compare.

Princess has never claimed to be a luxury line.

Although Carnival Corporation owns Princess, it doesn’t mean it’s similar to Carnival Cruise line. In fact I believe Carnival Corp. owns 9 cruise lines.

A lot of things are lacking on all cruise lines right now. Staff shortages, supply chain issues, getting good staff…everyone is struggling globally, on land, on the sea and in the air to find workers. Hopefully in time cruising will return to what we remember it to be. I wouldn’t discount Princess entirely, but do recommend a new ship in the future, such as the Royal, Regal and so on. The Caribbean Princess is more of a dowager now than a Princess.

The majority of reviews on this site are very similar to yours. Princess/Carnival are the Walmart of cruising. They do not.invest in their product and this is the end result. Sorry for your bad experience.

Thanks for the review. Caribbean Princess is an older ship. Since they are owned by Carnival, there are some similarities. Cruising is also not the same now as it was prior to Covid.
