This cruise was everything we had hoped it might be and more. Ports were fun and interesting and ship board experience was top-notch in so many ways.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The new medallion experience made embarkation very quick and easy. It was exactly like Princess said it would be.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
On this cruise the buffet turned out to be the best choice for us. The food there was very good and variety was superb. The main dining rooms were a little lacking. We did dinner there four times. Service was great once and the food was decent each time, but not so much so to make it worth the experience. We also did the Italian restaurant. It was “ok” but not worth the cover. Service was fine, but main menu was just ok. The desserts turned out to be the highlight of the meal.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We hung out but didn’t do a lot of these activities. Still there was plenty to do if we were in total relaxing mode.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows in the large theatre were great. Getting there early was important. The productions like Bravo were really good. The guest entertainment was solid. We loved both comedians. The musician and singer were extremely talented and magician was good was well. The small bands the lounges were energetic and fun. We also enjoyed the music trivia sessions. With so much going on and Movies Under the Stars the cruise offered plenty of entertainment for everyone.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We felt all of the service was first-rate from the room steward (who did a fantastic job) to the bar tenders and dining room staff.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We love the layout of Princess’ ships. The cabin design is very functional and comfortable. People were making sure areas of high traffic were clean and orderly. It was an older ship, but things were fine and in good shape.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We have had balcony cabins before and love them. Princess’ design left plenty of room to hang up clothes and store out things. The bed was very comfortable and tv was great. We used the balcony and it was big enough to meet our needs. The bathroom was small as one expects on a ship, but designed well to take advantage of the space allotted.
Ship tip
Get to the shows early. They are great and as the cruise goes by people figure it out.
We took the horse drawn carriage tour of the old city and the historic houses. This is a great excursion and shouldn’t be missed. Civil War buffs also had plenty to see.
We took the hop on hop off tour but it was a very nice Friday and with so much traffic we stayed on the bus. It was interesting and Boston is a city we would enjoy visiting again sometime.
A neat place to visit. We ate at one the local restaurants and had the lobster roll and blueberry dessert. So good. We also took a schooner voyage around the harbor. The tender ashore went surprisingly well and quickly.
We enjoyed our tour out to the Fundy Coast and sea caves. We saw the reversing falls and our guide did an excellent job of sharing interesting information along the way.
We took a tour out to Ruby’s Cove. It was a national holiday and there were tons of people at the famous lighthouse, but still it was a nice experience. Our guide told us about everything I think in Halifax and surrounding area. Almost too much information, but a good experience overall.
It was raining when got there so we didn’t do too much other than getting off the ship and walking around the area by the dock. We could still see many of the historic buildings from there.
