Review summary

We really enjoyed our window suite. Marc our cabin steward was fantastic. Loved the onboard music programs. Medical staff addressed husband's injury timely (once they were open) and did an excellent job, esp. the doctor. Unfortunately, because of the injury in the 1st port, we were not able to participate in many activities were normally would have. Would not visit Roatan again, would consider Belize if we could do the ziplining and mayan ruins.

Embarkation

great! Only cruise I didn't have to wait.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Some of the staff, Joseph in particular, were great. The food in the coral dining room was mostly good with a few dishes I'd categorize as great. The food in the buffet was just OK, and I couldn't find any apple juice or tomato juice. The Italian restaurant was OK, but the service was very slow. Really enjoyed the steak house.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We didn't get to do much with the pool. Only used it once, but enjoyed it. The bamboo spa treatment was excellent. The facial was ok, and the pedicure was disappointing (the massage chair wasn't working, and although I booked the fire and ice pedicure, I was left feeling like I paid a lot for nothing special.)

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Opera singer was great, but would prefer she stick to opera rather than pop or show tunes. Most of your dance ensembles were great. I did not care for the one show we saw - I think the second night.

Children's Programs

Daughter enjoyed it, but was bored at times. I think that is because she was the oldest one in the 8-12 camp.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Marc, was terrific. Joseph in the coral dining room was always very helpful and quick, although his partner (I can't remember her name) sometimes didn't get around to getting things in a timely manner, so we asked Joseph and he was right on it. Medical personnel were very helpful and skilled.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes. didn't notice any issues. Appreciated the hand washing stations at the buffet and the hand sanitizer stations.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the bed. Great closets. Only 2 issues: 1. the water temperature in the shower never got above luke warm. The sinks and bathtubs were fine, so I ended up taking baths instead of showers. The sprayer in the tub helped a lot, especially since after my husband's injury he was not able to take a shower. 2. There was a lot of dragging chairs on the deck above us the 1st couple nights about 3am and again around 6am. We talked to the service desk and they resolved the problem. Room had great location, would book it again.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Did the dolphin swim and sting ray city excursion. because the dolphins were a mating pair, we ended up standing around on the metal grate in the water much longer than we should have. The guides should have either broken the group into smaller sizes, and allowed half of us to wait in shade, or split us among that groups whose dolphins were cooperating. Disappointed in the dolphin portion, compared to other ports I've done similar excursions. Additionally, the boat we took to sting ray city did not have none skid on the side ladders, nor did they have an adequate first aid kit. Also, because they don't allow guests to wear watershoes, my husband slit open his toe on the ladder. The crew cleaned up the deck from his blood BEFORE they offered him gauze to stop the bleeding. The crew also contaminated the gauze by handing him the open squares and did not use gloves. They gave him a rubber band to 'secure' the gauze. One crew member even suggested he go back in the water! The didn't offer anything for pain, and didn't really check on him. He had to sit and wait until everyone else finished their visit with the sting rays. They did provide a wheel chair once back on the island. I cannot recommend this tour, as they do not have adequate safety equipment and didn't adequately address the foreseeable issues with the mating pair of the dolphins.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Did not book excursions with ship. Did an taxi island tour. Not much to see, just some shopping - unable to do the zipline we had planned due to previous injury.

Belize City, Belize

Unable to do planned tour due to previous injury. Substituted city tour, which was a waste of time.

Cozumel, Mexico

Did not do a tour. Did enjoy the shopping however.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fastest, easiest, least confusing disembarkation I ever had.

As for obtaining tomato juice in the buffet, all you had to do was ask. My travel companion loves tomato juice and had it every day.
