Loved it. Will do it again. Eastern Caribbean next.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
As far as luggage handling, it was very smooth and efficient. The porters were very competent and everything was where it should be when it was expected to be in our cabin.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I can say that the specialty restaurants were beautiful in design, and the food was exquisite! The service was wonderful in the buffets, all you had to do was ask and whatever you wanted was delivered. The same is true for the dining rooms.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The pool area was clean and well managed. My son said the fitness center was very well outfitted. The wooden decking was beautiful but I must warn you - slippery when wet!
Entertainment
We were so involved in other areas of the ship we never partook of the entertainment.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the Teen Area - she said all the activities were fun but loved the hide-and-seek all over the ship was the best!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Too wonderful for words. I felt like I was the Queen of England! And was treated like I actually was!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Since this was my first cruise, I can't really say anything about the layout and design since I have nothing to compare it to. But that ship's common areas were constantly being vacuumed, dusted, swept, wiped down... it was spotless throughout the week-long sailing (and that's impressive considering there were approximately 3,000 people on board!)
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The bed was wonderful. I have a bad back, and it felt better after sleeping in this bed. It was cleaned every day, and I use a lot of ice, so even tho' the ship instructions say it will be left in your cabin's refrigerator in the mornings "only," our Steward provided a freshly filled ice bucket every morning, every evening (without being asked) and provided it again whenever we asked for ice.
Ship tip
Pack less *you won't need it all*; pack comfortable shoes or sandals *there's a lot of walking on the ship, not just on excursions!*; HAVE FUN!
Absolutely fabulous. We did an excursion (swimming with the Dolphins) and had a wonderful time. Be prepared however to see the extreme difference in social status.
We visited the Maya ruins of Xunantunich and it was astounding. It is a 2-hour drive from the port (after taking a 30-minute tender from the ship to the pier.
From the ship to the terminal was fine. But the craziness of locating your luggage can be a bit challenging, even with the coded luggage tags provided by the cruise. It would help whoever is picking you up if the columns had numbers on them so you could stand by a specific number and advise your driver!
