Very relaxing and Caribbean Princess was a a wonderful ship, with a lot to do and really not enough time to do them all.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation was very easy and flowed well. It was not too long before we were able to be on the boat. The lobby area had plenty of seating and it was comfortable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining was very nice, we had anytime dining. Anytime dining on our cruise was in the Island and Coral dining room. Both were very nice and the food was good. Had the buffet for breakfast and a variety of choices. Only specialty restaurant used was Steamers. The food was wonderful and portions were large. loved the Key lime pie.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Theater shows were wonderful and cast was very talented. The cruise Director was very personable and was took time to speak with different cruise passengers.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Stage shows were very good and the Voice at Sea was fun.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff over all was very impressive. They were attentive to our needs and we were greeted with smiles everywhere we went.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
This is a very pretty ship with a lot of seating inside and out. It was a little difficult to get around on the 6th deck, but on the 7th deck you can walk outside to avoid going through the casino. The common areas were very clean and tidy at all times.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The bedding was wonderful and very comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was small, but we were told to get a bigger shower that you needed to be in a mini suite. The closest space and storage was wonderful and large enough to house four persons items if needed. The room was always clean and the twice cleaning service was great. The only problem we encounter with the room was the vibration coming from the being in the back of the boat. I was told that Princess was aware of this problem and was going to fix it. The swaying of the boat was no worst than any other cruise line I have been on.
Ship tip
Explore the ship and find your special niche, there are many quiet areas on this ship that are not used.
Everglades Airboat ride and Flamingo Gardens. Fun and had a great Captain on the airport ride who told us the history of the Everglades , saw wildlife and native plants. The Flamingo Gardens were very nice and tram ride was very informative. Key Lime pie was yummy.
Glass Bottom boat. This took us out to three coral reefs and we were able to see sea life, sharks and other fish species. The history of the island was very helpful and the tour guides had a lot of knowledge to share. Enjoyed this very much. Rented snorkeling equipment and saw a lot of sea life .
Not sure why anyone would want to leave this place. It was beautiful. Took the Puerto Rico's Favorites tour. Tour guide was full of knowledge and knew the area very well. We went to Yokahu Tower and saw beautiful views of PR, the rain forest , waterfalls. Next stop was the Fort, a lot of walking but it was well worth it.
Another beautiful country. Went on the Monkey Jungle&Dominican Flavors For Families tour. The monkey were the highlight of the day. They bounce from person to person and it was great to be able to touch them and have them so close. The coffee from the dominican home we stopped at was so GOOD. Our tour guides Fabian and Julio were very knowledgeable and gave us great attention and excellent rum. Highly recommend this tour.
The water here is beautiful. Did not get to take our tour on the Rainbow Calypso tram due to tram equipment failure. So we took to the beach. Went to the right side of pier and it was very rocky to get out to the sandy bottom, did not go to the left of the pier because it was very crowded. There were two cruise ships docked that day. Had no problem getting the free clam shells offer at this location.
