Review summary

Very bad cruise line. I have taken way too many cruises not to know when I'm getting burnt. Checked statement day before embarkation, $360. was about right, statement in door embarkation day, $985. on my debit card. They refused to discuss. After contacting line, denied my claim of being over-charged. Note to cruise line: if we (2 of us) drank that much, we'd be dead. Had my $$ and wasn't giving it back. Will Never, ever, under any circumstances, (even a free cruise) take another Carnival Cruise line ship, yes, Carnival owns Princess, AIDA, Costa, Cunard, P&O, Holland America, and Seabourn. Take your money else ware and have a good time and great food, please do not settle for the drek of the cruise line industry.

Embarkation

Painfully slow and completely disorganized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The buffet was better than the dining room. But neither was average, well below average.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
pools were dirty and not well maintained. that alone turned us off to any further activities.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
There were none to speak of that were good. One crummy band playing the same tired music every night, one DJ that played the same songs every night, the ships entertainment in the main theater was abysmal, at best. The other cruise lines already got anyone who had any real talent. Shame on Princess.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Condescending in a word. Rude in two words. about 99% of the staff had forced smiles if you even saw one, and the rest couldn't be bothered. I saw way too many crew - guest arguments, we just couldn't believe it. Like I said 99% of our interactions with crew were negative.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Some of the common areas were minimally passable, everywhere else was old/dirty, the rest rooms all were dirty/unkept and had pools of water, and or smelled like a sewer. Other main areas were ok. Old furniture also, everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The cabin was the worst we ever had for cleanliness, and it had a musty smell, especially the bathroom. Had a puddle in it when we first went in.

Ship tip

You'll be sorry...... Seriously, if you have really ever cruised before, you probably will not be happy on this ship. Unless you're blind and cannot smell.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
What can be said, it's a embarkation port, their embarkation process was ancient and painful.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

2 out of 5
Actually one of the highlights of the island, however the crew and locals (who worked the food service) were rude, not accommodating, and were stealing food from the back of the "hut" they had to serve the guests. What surprised me, was they didn't care that anyone saw them.. astounding, but sad.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

1 out of 5
still hasn't fully recovered from the last cruise we went on in the beginning of 2018.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

1 out of 5
did get around here a bit, beautiful island, but again, rude local villigers and vendors and cabbies, who try way to hard to get you to "ride" with them. We walked into town, and felt like we were going to get mugged several times. Whew!! My wife got out of view while in the local shops and was "sold" worthless jewelry they said was priceless, it was, wouldn't command any price anywhere else.. a couple hundred there down the drain, and an unhappy cruise ship port shopper.

Castries, St. Lucia

1 out of 5
was ok, just barely ok, all it is setup for is local vendor shopping. Went maybe 1/4 mile off the dock, was offered drugs, and a "date" with a local, right in front of my wife... wow... classy...

St. John's, Antigua

2 out of 5
Didn't get off ship

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Didn't get off ship

Wow, you get what you give. Sounds like you need a hug. We are on the ship right now and have found it to be spotless, the crew couldn’t be nicer, and the entertainment in the theater rivals any I have seen elsewhere. I have been to many broadway revues and concerts, and I am a professional myself. Not sure what you saw, or actually what ship you were on. Try to have a nice day.

I think this whole review is a FAKE. You say you've been on so many cruises and not 1 is listed. FAKE FAKE FAKE

Based on your reviews, I don't thin cruising is for you.

?? Questionable for sure.

You obviously didn't spend $625 in one day. This doesn't pass the smell test. You had two different statements 1 day apart. Why would leave the ship before settling this? You said you have been on many cruises, you should know that you never use a debit card on ANY cruise. There is no way to dispute the charges

So sorry you had such an awful experience. I cruised on the Caribbean Princess and had one of the most memorable cruise. I never use my debit card, always use a credit card. You can dispute the changes and the card company will do the battle for you. I checked my on board account everyday, and settled my bill the night before. No problem

Do you mean disembarked rather than embarkation?
