Review summary

Our cruise was over Christmas and New Year’s. The ship was nicely decorated for the holidays which made it special . The entertainment was wonderful and holiday themed. Watching the balloons drop in the Piazza for New Year’s while the band played music and we all danced was so much fun! Would do it again!

Embarkation

Very easy and speedy embarkation. Used the Ocean medallion and everything was a breeze.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved the totally redesigned eating areas on Deck15. It’s a totally reimagined Horizon Buffet which is now called World Marketplace. There is a spectacular salad bar where you can design your own salad or grab one of the pre-prepared salad cups, a place where you can grab sandwich meats to design your sandwich or grab one of the pre-made sandwiches, an International hot food section with a selection of Indian, Chinese, Thai foods, plus a carving station and other hots foods and soups to choose from. Something for everyone. There is also a place where you can get the Mongolian hot pot or Ramen noodles on alternate days. Fabulous selection of food and delicious! We found the buffet to be superior to food in the dining rooms.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the fitness center and the Spa. Also did a great wine tasting and tried the two specialty dining rooms—Crown Grill and Sabatini’s. Both great but I prefer Sabatini’s.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The production shows were wonderful as was the magician and the comedian.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward was exceptional. Waitstaff and others were very helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and comfortable. The Princess bed was just the best. So comfortable that I always got a good nights sleep. That said, the cabins are dated and could use refurbishment. The balcony was very rusty and badly needed repainting and repair.

Ship tip

You will love it. Take advantage of Skywakers on the upper deck as a haven from the crowds and noise on the ship if you want a quiet place to read or relax.

Went to lunch at Glady’s cafe. Always great. Much of town is still not rebuilt after being devastated by the hurricanes last year.

Love Curacao. The new area by the port is delightful. Has shops and eateries and a Starbucks. Great place to hang out . We went to the Round Market in town for some local food and it was cheap and delicious.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Would you say this ship has been refurbished recently. I've heard it was dirty and rusted?
