Caribbean Princess

12 Night British Isles With Kirkwall (London Roundtrip)

Sail date: May 01, 2017

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Cabin number: D329

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Review summary

The name of the cruise was 12 night British Isles with Kirkwall, didn't get into Kirkwall.

It was a little windy, but the passengers felt like the Captain could have stopped and waited awhile to see if the wind calmed down.

The port claimed they had no tug boats to help us.

Seriously, as big as Princess Cruise is and they don't warrant tug boats.

We had the Club Class. We were on the ship for 37 days, it would have been nice to have had a DVD so we didn't have to watch the same shows over and over and over again.

Ship tip

Don't sail on it!

Maybe you would have preferred the a $$hole captain from the Costa Concordia. Seriously I am sure the bridge crew made an educated call and put the safety of the ship and passengers first. In my opinion safety of passenger trumps the dissapointment of missing a stop.

You didn't miss much. Kirkwall is extremely small with one street and about a dozen shops. It takes about 10 minutes to walk round

Kirkwall, being a small port, I wouldn't imagine is equipped with tug boats.

Stupid Captain, what does he know!

They use tug boats if the ports are tight and there is no room to turn around. Sometimes they are needed even if not a huge ship.
