Review summary

This was my 6th cruise but 1st with Princess and we will never sail with them again. While the menu selection was good, the food quality was very poor and every item was bland and over salted. It was like eating 3 meals a day at a Luby's. I was delighted in my husband's company all week but apart from him there was nothing interesting on the ship. The activities consisted of ONLY sales pitches and movies, nothing else. There was little to nothing to do all day while onboard and this is not what I have come to expect from cruiselines. The service was generally quite rude apart from a couple exceptions and everywhere we went people were trying to get us to pay more. We received little respect and were dissatisfied with almost every staff member we came into contact with apart from a handful of kind people. In my experience, Royal Caribbean is the way to go if you want to cruise.

The cabin was nice, we were very glad we chose a Balcony room as the interiors were tiny. FYI make sure to bring conditioner. The website said there was conditioner but it was a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner that was very low quality.

@DottieDiehl this thread is for the Caribbean Princess so that is the ship I was speaking of. I am a fan of Princess, loved the Regal!!

I was on this ship 2x and found it to be very average and that was over 6years ago. What I have come to know is I like newer ships. The line puts their best into them!

Lmao.. this makes me laugh so hard... we went on princess for the first time 2 weeks ago and had the best time ever. EVERYONE on that ship was friendly. Always smiling. Very attentive. Ect. The food was fab. The entertainment was great. Sea days...always something going on..from line dancing to bingo to just about anything.the ship was gorgeous..

Well, we are also Elite on Princess, and it is turning into another Holland America in terms of being a snoozefest. we are Diamond on Royal Caribbean, and it is still our preferred cruise line. they have way more going on, we used to think the food was better on Princess, but even that hass changed. I do like the free minibar setup, but the perks on RC and Equal perks on Celebrity make up for it. the Royal Princess is a beautiful ship for sure

As per the comment from momof4mpls e feel the same way! We are Elite members on Princess, sailed on Carnival, NCL , and Holland America. We feel just so fortunate to be travelling and love all of the ships. Each line has something to offer-we are travelling in October on Azamara as they have extremely small ships...not everyone's idea of fun but we believe ours!

We sailed 02/22/2016, love 99% of the cruise. The staff was wonderful main dining room and specialty dining outstanding. We felt the ship was clean and kept up. My only complaint was the buffet, we have had better food on previous Princess Cruises. On the flip side there are so many other options than the buffets you don't have to eat there. Happy sailing on RC⚓️

I'm sorry that you don't believe, try it for yourself then report back. I've sailed Carnival 7 times then gave Princess a try and it could be just that ship, but it sucks.

You can't please everyone, that is true!! But if you read plenty of the comments on Ship Mate... It is very strange that one comment can be scathing on the same cruise and same date and ship as a wonderful one!!! Hmmm??
