Review summary
Cruise was to Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras and then to Belize City, Belize and then on to Cozumel, Mexico and back to Houston.
We took the Eco-Walk and Beach Break excursion in Roatan. The eco-walk took us down into a canyon in the semi=jungle with a lot of suspension bridges. Didn't see much wildlife, but the walk was definitely interesting. Went on to a beach that was really great, had some of the best beach and ocean sand I have seen. Many beaches have sharp rocks out in the ocean that are very hard on feet, but not here.
In Belize, we went to the Altun Ha Mayan ruins outside of the city. Very interesting and our tour guide did an excellent job of explaining the Mayan history and culture. A tour through the city wasn't all that great, bumper-to-bumper cars and bikes, and depressing to see so many people evidently barely getting by.
Been to Cozumel several times, so no excursions taken there.
As far as the ship, food was good to excellent, service was always good and staff as a whole was friendly. Entertainment in the theater nightly was outstanding. Took some lessons in ballroom and line dancing, joined in the daily trivia challenges, lost a little money in the casino, enjoyed the sun on deck, and generally had a good time overall.
Only complaints are that we would have liked to have had more listening and dance music, country and pop, in the evenings.
Overall, I rate it a very nice cruise, especially for the money.
