Review summary
We flew into Houston Hobby on Saturday, taking the Hampton Inn shuttle to the hotel and returning to the airport on Sunday. Had prepayed for the Cruise Shuttle to take us from the Airport to Bayport. We checked our bags onto the bus and the next time we saw them was in our cabin. The procedure was well organized and received a pleasant bus ride to the Port. Once there, all moved along quickly and we were soon on the ship and shown to our cabin.
Our cabin was on the Aloha deck with a private balcony. We could look over our railing and see lower balconies. The cabin offered sufficient room and was the first time I did not have to ask for additional hangers. The room stewart did an excellent job of looking after the room without being intrusive.
The stage productions were among the best we have seen. All of the singers had broadway type voices and performed three different shows. Tyler Bryce, "One Man Many Voices" made us think of the late Danny Gans who performed at the Mirage in Las Vegas. The two comedians were also entertaining. Throughout the ship there were two bands, two beautiful violen
players and a piano player plus a few others that we didn't pay attention to.
The one short coming for us was the lack of good music in which to do ballroom type dancing. The pre recorded music that was advertised for ballroom dance was poorly selected. One night every other dance was a cha cha with little variation in the music. Otherwise, most of the band music appealed to those who "free style" dance.
We ate in the traditional dining room except for the one night at Sabatini's. All of the selections were to our liking and it is difficult for me to understand why people complain about the food. The service was outstanding; friendly and efficient.
On our return Saturday night, the wind was strong causing the ship to get into port a couple of hours late. Other than that, debarkation went smoothly and the bus was there to take us to the airport. Overall we had a very enjoyable cruise making this our 26th. trip.
