Review summary

We took our two sons (ages 12 and 14) with us on a cruise during winter break from school. Each boy had a wonderful time with their age-group club on the Carribean Princess. My husband and I were able to enjoy dining and entertainment on board without worrying that our boys were having a great time without us. The food was so good on the Carribean Princess. I've cruised with other lines, but the service and helpfulness of the crew on this ship is unmatched. We hated to leave the boat, but the islands and ports were gorgeous and fun. Make sure you snorkle with the turtles in St. Thomas and Barbados!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The formal dinners were superb and the linens, chrystal and flatware always sparkled.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The hypnotist was phenomenal. The movies under the stars were very popular and movies were first run instead of last year's leftovers. The on ship photographers took excellent family portraits for us.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The kids had a great time and the kid club rooms were really huge as compared to other cruise lines we have been on.

Service and Staff

The best!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship was huge, but felt intimate and was very easy to navigate. The kids never got lost.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a cabin with a balcony. It was gorgeous. The bed was a little hard, but our steward added extra mattress covers which helped a lot.

Ports of call

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
Sort of poor, but we did take a taxi to a nice beach.

Castries, St. Lucia

3 out of 5
Nice drivers in St. Lucia. I heard getting a day pass to Sandals resort is the way to go for great food and beer.
Don't Miss: Pidgeon Island for beach play.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Must see the turtles on St. Thomas. Take a catamaran sail.

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
This was the most beautiful island of them all. The water was crystal clear and the beach was clean with soft white sand.

Pros: Great entertainment for every age.

Cons: Nothing!!
