1st Caribbean Cruise by Fickles2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

Loved it. Plain & simple. I would've preferred an all inclusive cruise as we had rather a large bar bill.

Another Great Caribbean Cruise on Britannia by Bugsy2k

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

4th Time on Britannia- Sheโ€™s not everyoneโ€™s cup of tea but we love her. Food by and large excellent but think MDR experience is slipping a little. Loved Epicurean and Sindu but best food we had all trip was in the Glass House. Staff ascever canโ€™t be faulted- Entertainment was, well entertaining...๐Ÿ˜€ Ports other than Dominica were great and weather but for the day in Dominica was excellent First time had the use of a suite and although we enjoyed the added room and big balcony wonโ€™t rush to spend the extra again Booked Azura next year for a change

Caribbean 7th-21st Dec A beautiful... by richyd

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

Caribbean 7th-21st Dec A beautiful ship with a gorgeous atrium . Drink prices were good compared to the American ships . MDR food wasnโ€™t exceptional but ok . We had a balcony cabin with a sofa , there was plenty of storage & coffee & tea making facilities which was appreciated . Shows were ok , but not as good as celebrity or RCI . Horizon court buffet again ok but have had better . Went to see Chesney Hawkes in limelight club which was very good . 4/5 My highlight was sitting in that lovely atrium having relaxing drinks with good friends .

I would like to say... by Deanandtammie

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

I would like to say firstly we really enjoyed our first cruise. And would definitely cruise again. Although I have a few bad points . Our first encounter was with the customer service desk. They where very rude and dismisive regarding our luggage. We had to wait nearly 5 1/2 hours of our cases. We did take a change of clothes etc. But we didn't take our swimwear and had a trip booked for 8am the next day. The excursion crew where not available to advise us further. The other bug bear was black tie nights. We ended up having to cancel our Pre booked restaurants as my partner took a suit and waistcoat but no tie. Apparently this wasn't good enough !!! . To make it worse had to pay extra for a Meal in the other 3 restaurants or eat in the buffet. Not happy at all. Again the service desk staff where very rude. The rest of the staff where great. I would not cruise with P&O

Britannia ship was good with... by Ron1711

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

Britannia ship was good with everything. Liked the room n staff were very friendly and helpful. Being a vegetarian, we found it very hard to get Indian vegetarian meal at night. Eventually we did, but we shouldnโ€™t have had to fight for it. We went to a higher official to get it sorted only to get same meal virtually every night. At time of booking P&O said chefs will cater for us will not be any problem. On the ship they didnt help with this issue. Otherwise excellent in everything. Room staff and waiters all fantastic people. Sorry to say we wonโ€™t sail with P&O again .

If this is your first... by Tedde

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

If this is your first cruise, you may like it. We have been on multiple cruises including other P&O cruises and found the Britannia to be lacking. From beginning to end the issue was the lack of customer service. The internet does not work as advertised and though we spoke to reception and the library we were informed that was that. The poor organization began the night we boarded the ship. It took hours to get our luggage and by the time we did and showered the restaurants were closed and they were closing the buffet to switch it over. We were not alone struggling to find something to eat. On days with heavy rain no alternative activities were offered leaving little to do but sit in the lobby or the pub. Drinks at the pool took up to 45 minutes and when they did often came warm and with the ice melted. The final day though the charter flights donโ€™t depart until the evening you need to have your luggage out the night before and out of the cabin first thing in the morning. Since the new passengers donโ€™t arrive until the afternoon there is no reason the luggage needed to be out until the morning and you could be in the cabin until mid day. They did allow for this option for another ยฃ75. Charging extra for anything they could imagine was constant. Paying for specialty restaurants or spa treatments is expected. It was charging for other things. From kitchen and engine room tours (which are normally free), to cocktails with the captain, it was a non stop bombardment. It left us questioning if P&O is having financial problems.

1st Cruise EVER! by 77Hilary77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

First cruise for me and to be honest there are more pluses than minuses. Britannia and it's staff are amazing. Loved everything about her and the friendliness and hard working staff. One thing I was sorry about was the sail days. I found it hard to cope with squashed together sunbeds and people up and about at 5.30-6am to place towels on them. P&O. sort that out. we all want a bed but at 8 am they were all taken and hardly a person in sight just 100's and 100;s of towels! Plus the quiet pool still had a few kids in and was supposed to be adult only. I never saw any supervisors or parent telling them off for jumping in. that spoilt it for me. I think a shallow pool just for kids is needed. IF I ever cruise again I would opt for less sail days I got bored sadly as I like my beaches. One major problem us 5 ladies had was the Spa and the treatments. It was diabolical completely disorganised. One day on a Ladies afternoon pamper 17 ladies walked out as we had waited 45 minutes in a room only to find out we were sharing with men. Most of the women said their husbands would not be happy sharing steam rooms, Hydra pool and being massaged next to a strange man. So after a huge row with the Spa team we all walked with no apologies! The Spa is in total disarray. When our final bill came 2 out of 5 of us ladies had a bill for a spa treatment we had never had and one for a non existent blow wave. When we went to the Spa to sort it out this caused so much confusion and another row we had to complain to customer services. Be careful if you use the Spa.....or even if you don't!

Pleasant cruise but standards are slipping by Sawejama

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

Britannia is only duited to people that spend their days drinking and are rowdy. Not families that enjoy socialising , meeting new people, good entertainment and a quieter life style. Apart from visiting ports and seeing other countries it has nothing to offer

Trip from ship - Cinque Terre by Timesx2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Enjoyable cruise, nice ship though nothing special (have travelled on other P&O ships and they were like comparing the Ritz to Britannia being a Holiday Inn). Didn't feel as big as I expected. Food in the Horizon self service restaurant was good with plenty of choice but the Oriental in the evening was less good, with soup and vegetables usually cold, poor vegetable choice (as before, green beans and stew pack every night became a joke on our table of 8 people).

P&O BRITANNIA. 12 NIGHTS CANARIES... by Quincycquinn

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

P&O BRITANNIA. 12 NIGHTS CANARIES AND AZORES. 2018. A party of six of us, everyone sorley disappointed, slowly but surely during the course of the cruise, finding out that some of the amenities were available only to loyalty holders , hence the huge disappointment, of not being allowed into the one place I myself was exited to be able to use 'the retreat '๐Ÿ˜– , which onboard the RC the oasis was heaven, so I thought this would be the highlight of the cruise especially for me ! What an annoyance to find myself with my nose pressed against the crack of the locked doors of the retreat, wondering why? Soon became apparent as the staff made it clear that if you are just a lowley minion , and not a 'loyalty holder' be off to the boiler room with you,ha! We were allocated to one Restraunt, (freedom dining) 4 of those nights were formal , so unless the menfolk wore formal wear understandably you wernt allowed in , but could you visit any other restaurants paying or otherwise No! So buffet dining only , as long as the teenager eating times in the buffet had finished were you then allowed in๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„. Now bearing in mind the majority of clientele aboard were I would say 70 years or older, and also wheel chair users etc, this I'm sure is perfect for the client seeking a cruise that is orientated, for their needs, but would have been greatly appreciated if the cruise operator would have given us a bit of an insite, as to the clientele which are suited to this cruise, in the same respect we wouldn't have booked a Disney cruise , Entertainment, visited the theatre twice out of the 12 NIGHTS, and nearly missed out on those , as they were comedy acts and we weren't too keen , but TUCKER and the other comedian were absolutely brilliant! Although we did have to go for the 10.30 showing as it was impossible to get a seat, (such a large ship , such a small theatre). Unfortunately we found that out of hundreds of staff only a few would interact or smile, regardless of our being constantly polite and smiling ๐Ÿ™„! None of our party are 'foodies ' and are quite easily pleased, but whether it was the buffets or restaurants the food was either totally bland or totally over salted! Maybe the chefs didn't need to try too hard because of the age of the clientele they hoped the tast buds weren't firing on all cylinders! Most food either served or self serve buffet was COLD! I personally really like porridge, but unfortunately not the tasteless watery gruel that was served, please sir I Don't want any more๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™, We thought renaming the ship to the 'REVENUE'of the seas๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ˜ ! May suit the Brittania better, ...at every available opportunity, whether eating, reading , quietly, having a drink, any place anytime anywhere, you would get touted! To purchase one of the very many venues that takes place ' every day ' and it wouldn't be a particularly soft sell either๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–! We do understand it is the company, and not the over worked employee. Although we had empathy with the employees , and their plight, we did work and save hard for this ...so called relaxing holiday! , mind you we didn't have to trapse around too much looking at what different destinations had to offer as the majority of our time was at sea!!!!๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจ. You got the feeling that a couple of ports were just for refuelling purposes as the amount of time ashore was very limited. So in a nutshell! For one and a half grand per person (balcony.inc.oooo๐Ÿ˜ฎ) this is what we got , cold tasteless food unless paying in other restraunts Sinduh was fabulous! went twice...or starved! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜, rubbish entertainment limited access to facilities unless paying ,a long time at sea , well there was the company's revenue to meet! (Keep em onboard keep em spending ...I wonder if that's their motto?) . Expect to do a lot of waiting around for lifts etc as the elderly and disabled do have priority, no dispute there , but would have been nice to have been briefed on these things . Mr Tumbles as we called the Captain, because of the way he addressed his customers onboard, which would either relate to a very young person , or he assumed the majority of people had senile dementia, ... I'm sure he is a very nice man though..just 'tickety boo!' ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. So P&O we gave you a go, will we book with you next time the answer is No!

Fantastic experience. Not much for under 2s tho. Out of the 3 pools they are allowed in, two are 5โ€™5โ€ and one is about 4โ€ deep. Also no kids club for U2โ€™s. Other than that everything was amazing, food, service, facilities all 5*
