Review summary

Overall we didn’t think that this cruise was worth it. We did another Caribbean cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines several years earlier and had a much more enjoyable experience. Our Canaries cruise on the Ventura was better than this one and cost a damned sight less. So be warned not to expect too much as you may well be disappointed!

Embarkation

A bit of a cattle market.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
My wife and I tried most of the onboard restaurants and found the food to be quite reasonable, but the portions were a bit small for a big meat-lover like me.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Gym got rather crowded at times. Theatre and other venues were OK,but not as good as those on the Ventura when we did a Canaries cruise.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Probably the best thing about this Caribbean cruise. Our room attendant called Antonio kept us well supplied with essentials and the cabin was very well kept. My favourite waiter was a guy from Goa who called himself William although I doubt that was his real name who slipped us a few extras when I asked for them and the wine waiter called Durban also rated a mention.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
As it was our Golden Wedding Anniversary I splashed out on a balcony cabin-but it was so small I didn’t think it was worth the extra expense. It was on G Deck directly over the theatre-so we had to put up with loud thumping bass noises coming up through the floor at various times of the day and night!

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
As I wrote previously I didn’t think that the balcony was worth the money as it was so small, beds were quite comfortable and the steward kept our accommodation spotless!

Ship tip

Don’t get a cabin over the theatre if you want peace and quiet!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation was meant a rather long wait to get off the ship and another wait of several hours at the airport before we boarded our plane. Not Ideal!

The entertainment in the theatre only goes on from 19:00 until 23:15 so this wouldn’t be an issue for me as I certainly wouldn’t be in my cabin at those times whilst on holiday Though I can appreciate that cruising can be exhausting and a few early nights for some would be beneficial I would say take some earplugs if you wa as not partaking in the entertainment

I love the Caribbean definitely worth it.

There are a lot of places not to book a cabin which is very easy to determine.
