good trip not real impressed by Marinemom2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

food was great, staff was great, just NOT ENOUGH STAFF. had to chase down a waiter or stand in line at the bar for extended periods of time to get a drink. wait staff in & before shows was non existent. original itinerary gave us all day in Key west, but ended up only having a few hours. would have like to have had more time there to explore. Cozumel was Cozumel. Docked downtown instead of the international pier...so we had to walk a ways to get to the nicer side of town. Expected a lot more from RC, but my family has had a lot more excitement & fun on other cruise lines.

If i ever cruise again. I wont be going on this class of boat. by lokey86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There is nothing to do on this boat but drink and eat. The food was nasty, and the drinks were crazy priced. For what I spent I could have gotten a house on the beach and really enjoyed my time off. Maybe cruises just arent for me. The live theatre team is awesome though. For the 5 days i wish they could have just been on stage the whole time. That was the only thumbs up i can give on this trip. Well also the housekeeping. They were awesome too.

convenience by tomwilliams0301

Like to read while laying around the pool. Staff was excellent. Could not get the dining time we wanted.( 6:00pm.) 8:30 is too late. Don't say you have anytime dining when you don't. Disembarkation customs took way too long. Customs knows a ship with 2143 passengers is arriving 7:30 am. make arrangements to accommodate them.

When did Royal Caribbean become an "economy cruise line"? by rpgreco1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Over the years I've had the pleasure of sailing on Royal Caribbean cruise line a number of times. This last trip was disappointing. The dinners were not so good  and entertainment  options were few and far between. When I asked a bartender why this was so she said that the company had cut back on expenses. Wow!

Good experience for my first cruise! by jeanelle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I enjoyed the cruise a lot. I liked all the activities they offered but I was still expecting a few more. Maybe a variation of movies being shown or more entertainment and dance events. I enjoyed the food a lot but wasn't too happy with the offers for food in-between dinning times.

Disappointing cruise for Royal Carribean cruise line by jkissane1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Entertinment and the program staff was excellent.  The food was marginal and arrived warm instead of hot. I feel I got screwed out of $50 on board credit after referring two couples( Newcom & Mcguffin)

who then went on to book more cruises on the ship.  The casino was the worse smoke filled cruise ship casino I have been on after 42 cruises. Our servers and room steward were very good.

Regards,

James & Ellen Kissane

*SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT

*FOOD WAS PRETTY GOOD

*SHOW TALENT WAS AWESOME

*EVEN THOUGH I LOST, THE CASINO WAS A LOT OF FUN PRIMARILY BECAUSE OF A COUPLE OF THE FUN DEALERS & SOME CRAZY CANADIANS THAT WE MET THERE, WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THEIR CONTACT INFORMATION

The overall experience was adequate. Nothing special. There are many process improvements and training opportunities with the staff. But overall, we had a nice time.

Disappointing by rynnel1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have very fond memories of this ship. One of the 1st we took on Royal Caribbean's fleet.  The first time across the atlantic was absolutely awesome, second was good and this last time I could see a marked decline.  The ship is looking a little aged and the room was particularly worn-out looking.  We don't spend much time in the room so that's fine but the service was not there - problems across the entire ship.  Room service did not get our order, the food in the main dining room really fell short of expectations.  The food in the Windjammer where I would prefer not to eat ended up being better than the main dining area.  I felt the staff looked worn out and I believe that RC are pushing these people to the limit.  I really think they need to split the turnover into three contracts giving them more time to recover.  They work so hard.  I found them to be a little more disgruntled and that is not something I have ever experienced with the staff.  It all goes back to the employer, the staff always try to be gracious and cheerful but I noticed that there seem a lack of staff.  The railings were always cleaned throughout the day for germs etc but I did not seem them being cleaned once in the entire time I was there.  On the whole very disappointing.  We are even considering moving to another cruiseline now.

Lovely cruise, great staff. by Hjs2016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Really enjoy all the food, and the ship itself is lovely. Staff were all very helpful and attentive, very easy departure port.  Loved Playa Palancar at Cozumel; just hire a moped outside ($50 for the day total for a couple).  The ruins at San Gervasio are only average, in comparison to the mainland ruins. However, I did see once you depart, that they have flights over to the mainland for these ruins; I'd probably recommend that (if you haven't seen these ruins).

Beats Cooking by gammytime

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We took the Thanksgiving cruise to keep me out of the kitchen. We like cruising and we enjoy Cozumel so overall we had a nice time. We experimented on a couple of twists: we let Royal Caribbean assigned our cabin and found out we like being right by the elevator toward the front. However, for some reason there were bothersome creaking and banging sounds the first two nights. The second thing we tried but won't do again is assigned seating for dinner. My Time Dining was not available for some reason. Our little table was stuck behind two big tables of very loud families. Service was courteous but slow. We just hit the Windjammer on the remaining nights.

Wonder by jefnsal33960175

My family had a wonderful time. The staterooms were beautiful. Staff was friendly. Shore excursions made things so easy and stress free! My Time Dining was great. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it was nice. The food was great and our wait staff went above and beyond to make sure we got to try everything!

very nice cruise by simba123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Brilliance of the Seas is a smaller ship, which was nice - we did not get lost. The Cruise was awesome and I would certainly recommend it and also would do it again. Outside on the Balcony was some kind of cleaning accessories, which I would have liked to know before I booked that Balcony room, since it was a birthday present. For me it was a relaxing cruise, I was not looking for party or much entertainment - I was looking for some relaxation and t hat was perfect on this ship.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Main Restaurant was great, the Service outstanding but the food quality okay. There were some meals that I would not order again but everybodys taste is different. All in all, it was a great cruise and I would certainly do it again.

Great cruise. overall presentation of ship was excellent. by smartalectu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was delighted with my stateroom, although I chose an interior room, it was spacious and immaculately clean.

The food was plentiful and good quality but I thought the choice was limited. Too much emphasis on upgrading meals and paid for restaurants.

I would certainly book again and recommend to family and friends.

Cruise Cozumel by Cruiser13718155

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Work on their customer service

We checked in our tequila we bought in Cozumel and expressed it was fragile hand blow glass.  We checked in 4 packaged and got back 2.  When we went to customer service they very casually said oh some bottles were broken.  They should of came to us and let us know we had to go inquire what happened.
