Review summary

Great 8 days. Ship broke down. Compensated well. šŸ‘

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our booked embarkation time was 1 pm when we arrived at around 10:45 am. I noticed there was hardly anybody around the port. So we went to drop our bag at the bag drop, then weā€™re planning to have a look around Sydney Harbour, but the gentleman there said - no no -just go straight ahead and go onto the boat.šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø.. so we were on board in less than 15 minutes, actually probably less than 10 minutes it was late

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was okay. Usual standard buffet fare. Iā€™m vegetarian so my choices were limited. We went to the main dining room for dinner every night, and that was quite pleasant. Theyā€™re small servings of meals., but enough that you donā€™t get hungry. One or two meals were a little bland but say on the whole it was good too very good.

Onboard Activities

We are not big participants in the things that they have on offer to do. We are more than happy to sit around the atrium and listen to the music and watch other people. Do some of the games and things like that. We did see one or two shows and they were pretty good. We are happy to sit with a book in a corner or on our balcony and just enjoy life go past

Entertainment

Most of the things we saw were quite good, enjoyed the music in the atrium, the best

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As usual, all the stuff are amazing. Because of what happened on our ship the poor guest services people mustā€™ve got hit, but they remained very polite and did everything they could to assist everybody.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This is my first time on a radiance class ship, and I have to say I really like it. Alright itā€™s older but I donā€™t care. I like the fact that thereā€™s a central atrium on this one and a short walk in either direction and you come to either end of the ship, I donā€™t get lost on this ship and itā€™s not too complicated and I liked it very much

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was sold as a balcony cabin - obstructed. But was actually a SPACIOUS balcony - in line with all the others on our level. Had a large extra part of balcony that had a lounge chair in it ā€¦ really paid a great price for this as I consider the ā€œ obstructionā€ to be the advantage šŸ˜‚. Extra balcony space. Large cabin. So many cupboards, comfy bed. .. extremely happy with it

Ship tip

Just enjoy it.

Disembarkation

Our ship broke down on the way to the South Pacific, so we had eight nights at sea instead of 11. So we got back to Sydney Harbour at about 9 pm and so everybody in his dog was trying to get off at the same time. So it was great long lines but what could you do. We didnā€™t get home till midnight. The staff did the best they could, under very trying circumstances
