Review summary

Now the criticism. My husband and I are in the casino a lot. This was our 23 cruise this year. He is a much higher level than myself. The casino host said hello to him but didn't give me the time of day. She wouldn't print out anyone's offers. Not friendly at all. The casino it small and tight to get around but I knew that. My biggest grip is not allowing people to smoke in the casino when it's not open. It's not a smoking lounge!! When it was open I couldn't use machines because people were standing around them smoking and not playing. I asked for if I could play and they said no....WTH they were NOT playing the game either RC has to do a better job!

Nikola Vujovic with guest services was awesome!! Our room attendant Olivia was amazing!! Our waiter Kirti and Ikomang in the main dining were the best and really went up and beyond!

Ship Quality

We were on it before it went into dry dock this year. I can see out most of the windows now but in the solarium there was a leak in one and it got my bags all wet before I realized it.

Ship tip

Always check the weather prior to packing. We did and it called for rain. We brought appropriate clothing and shoes. Many did not and got soaked.

We normally don't get off but we were with friends who hadn't been. Again it rained but we went to the private museum. It was hookie but interesting as well. It is interesting watching them transform the port. It will be nice when it's done.

I had a similar experience on Nov 26-Dec 1 sailing in the casino with the smokers. It's always a problem on these Tampa-based cruises and RC crew members are not enforcing any of the CLEARLY STATED rules. Between having 10% of the machines broken and then 10-15% of the machines with these squatters smoking but not playing, it was hard to get a machine to play. Beyond that, the machines are packed too tightly together, especially considering the number of wheelchairs on every Tampa-based cruise (proximity to The Villages and just generally more retirees all up and down the West coast of Florida.) I'm hoping for a better experience on Serenade in February, but it's the same size ship and same customer base.
