Review summary

This was my first time on a Royal Caribbean cruise line and I was unimpressed. I had heard good things but I did not necessary experience it. I may give them another try but maybe a different ship.

Embarkation

The embarkation process was the same for all ships, however the lines moved pretty quick with a few hiccups along the way.

Food and Dining

The main dining room food was just okay, I found the host to be rather rude but the wait staff was nice but service was slow. The buffets were not great, but breakfast buffets were the worst I had under cooked sausage and burnt boiled eggs. There were a few dishes that was really good like the Indian curry chicken, and the apple chicken sausage (only served one morning). The food in the Chopped Grill was excellent, the service was timely and the crew was really nice. They are the reason for the 3 stars overall but I would have given this restaurant 5 stars.

The pool was nice and the lifeguards were very aware of what was going on and paid close attention. They did not let the kids and adults get to rough. The Casino was too small for the amount of smoke that circulated I think it needs better air circulation to eliminate some of smell.

Entertainment

I am only giving this a three because it did not appeal to me or my group, that's not to say the performers were not good. The 1st comedy show was horrible, I did not find him remotely funny nor did several others that walked out.

I did not have any children directly with me.

Service and Staff

I found alot of the staff to be rude and unconcerned, while there was plenty staff that was very helpful and did a great job providing excellent customer service

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The cleanliness of the ship was excellent, they had hand sanitizer throughout the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was small, but it was on a ship so I did not feel that was an issue. I have been in larger cabins on other cruise lines. It was always clean and the stafff was amazing.

Ship tip

I personally don't think I would ever sail on Brilliance of the Sea again, the ship seemed to be geared towards older people and I am 56.
