Review summary

Lovely cruise spoilt only by my new found ability to be seasick, hooray! Tried acupuncture for the first time too - don't know if it helped, but it didn't make it any worse!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We drove straight to the front of the CPS parking queue and were loading our cases on a trolley within 5 minutes. Dropped the baggage off and we went straight into the terminal, queued for about 5 mins before getting to the desk. Had to have our photos taken again, but that was no problem; there was no queue for security but a small one for getting on board. I think this was the speediest embarkation we've had.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was fine, food mostly good but not enough vegetarian choices, as ever. The menus really need jazzing up a bit now though, they've been serving the same things for years - time for a change. Only used the buffet a few times, but what was there was fine. One minor thing was that there were rarely any cold plates for salad.

Lido Bar

Those guys work so hard!

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Don't do any of the activities, usually. But I'll give 'reading book with a cocktail next to me' 5/5!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing, as ever. The staff were all hard working, and you tell when a team had been together a while - it was like watching the ex-presidents from Point Break.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
A few areas needed a bit of extra attention - several lifts were out of service for the entire cruise, as were several public toilets. Other than that, it was all good!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
My husband hovered over his laptop for ages to get this cabin - and it was lovely. Absolutely huge, with a separate bedroom and an enormous balcony, ideal for spotting reluctant dolphins, or for shouting 'OOOOH!!' at your wife so she comes running out to find that you've 'Just seen the most amazing shooting star'...

Ship tip

Just be courteous to your fellow travellers and the staff, and everyone will be happy!

Ports of call

Cadiz (Spain)

4 out of 5
Love Cadiz - don't forget to see the cats over the sea wall. The camera obscure is a fun thing to do, but book tickets online before you go.

Cartagena, Spain

4 out of 5
We had some late stops on this cruise which meant a more relaxed day to explore.

Southampton (London), England

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Can't fault it really. Went for breakfast in the MDR early, which was great - not busy at all, and no bags to worry about. Back to the cabin for half an hour and a ladt look out on the balcony, then off to the Headliners. Sat around for less than half an hour then off we went. Found our cases very quickly, thanks the the very helpful lady who had grouped them all together, straight through customs and off to the car park.
