Review summary

Let me just start by saying that, contrary to other replies on other sites i have seen and indeed on here, i am not a moaner, nor am i whining or never satisfied, i'm just giving my humble opinion of things as we found on the Azura. I'm sorry if they do not line up with your experience but - there you are. I thought the food was average in the MDR, not that is necessarily a bad thing and we certainly didn't starve, i just thought it could have been better. I also thought the lack of an interactive tv was strange, you have to walk to reception to book anything, find out your running total etc. in fact anything at all, just think they could do better in 2019. So, nothing major to whinge about folks, just think that this is a ship that will really benefit from the upgrade/refit it will be having next year, after all, the loyal P&O customers deserve it don't they? Did we have a fabulous cruise - absolutely. Would we do it all again - of course, already booked!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Straight off the plane in Barbados, onto a bus and to the ship. No queue, picked up cards and onboard!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
MDR food was average at best, Epicurean speciality awful, everything else good. Buffet breakfast outstanding and at other times really good, burgers on the upper deck also great. In case you are wondering, on the night we ate at Epicurean three tables sent their food back and we were all refunded without question, must have been bad night or something as others on board said it was outstanding when they went.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Thought all the shows we saw were average to entertaining, nothing outstanding except for a lady we saw in the Manhattan who was a Witney Houston impersonator (Ida King?) who blew us away.

Children's Programs

Too old!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Hands down the nicest, smiliest staff we have encountered on a cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean and seemed well maintained, apart from the coffee machine at the Costa place which seemed to break down every other day! Thought the ship is starting to look a little dated and maybe in need of a freshen up, but comfortable and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was as expected, clean and comfortable with the usual small bathroom and loads of hanging space, it was adequate for our needs

Ship tip

Try Brodies Bar, it is not a casino but so much more. A great place to hang out, drink, watch sports on tv, talk, quiz etc. etc.

Ports of call

Bridgetown, Barbados Did not visit port

Drove through on the way to the ship, then sailed.....

And so you should be able to have a opinion after all I swear that's what this site is all about 😊.... I know what you mean tho, I roll my eyes when someone gets funny because someone shared their experience and it wasn't what they wanted to hear 🙄😂
