Review summary

The cruise was great.  Azamara is an amazing cruise line, with little extras added in as the cruise progresses. The cabin stewards are thorough, helpful and friendly, and willing to go out of their way to fill your needs.

The amazing evening was an outing to Ephesus, to experience a local string orchestra play for us at the Odeon, an ancient amphitheater. We sat in the ancient seats and listened to the orchestra play a diverse mixture of music.  Truly magical, to be able to experience such an unexpected evening.

Another treat was a cookout with fresh fish that the dining crew procured locally for us.  Fresh fish, out of the water that morning, cooked over the open grills on the upper deck.  I am spoiled for any supermarket fish ever again.

Another treat was fresh lobster procured locally and grilled for us.  These are the extras that Azamara provides that make it a memorable cruise experience.

The self-service laundry is a huge bonus.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was a lot going on, so there was no reason for anyone to be bored.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I didn't attend any shows, as I was exhausted from the days activities. I was told that the shows were very good. The entertainment on the deck and in the lounges was nice, the singers and musicians adding to the ambiance of the areal

Cabin / Stateroom

Excellent, although there was a smell of mold in the bathroom. Comfortable bed.

Ship tip

A cruise for relaxation. Not a cruise for people who want constant entertainment and activity, Azamara is more subdued. A great cruise to unwind and experience foreign countries, delightful cuisine, and meet new friends.

Ports of call

Mykonos, Greece

Loved just walking around the old city, and experiencing life as it was hundreds of years ago. Ate grilled sardines in a local restaurant. Yum.

Ephesus

Again, just walked around looking at old places. The merchants in town are very aggressive, so don't stop and look in the windows.

Patmos

Don't miss John's cave. It will help if you can be there when there are few tourists, so you can get the feel of the mystical aura. Check the hours if you go alone - it closes part of the day.

Santorini, Greece

I just walked around. Didn't realize that you had to take the cable care (five euros each way) or go up by donkey or walk. The churches are magnificent in all of the places we went

Kotor, Montenegro

Again, I experienced the old city, bought some souvenirs from friendly vendors. The ice cream is delicious.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Delicious fresh fish for lunch, followed by an ice cream cone before reboarding the ship

Hvar, Croatia

Beautiful.

Optija, Croatia

More "modern" than the others . Beautiful park to stroll through.
