Review summary

This was a first cruise and I'm not sure how we could ever top it. We met wonderful people on board and off. It was amazing how we did not overhear and mean, cruel words, people seemed to get along and remembered its a vacation enjoy as much as you can. There was never a lack of things to do even if it was find a quite place to relax and nap.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining food was always delivered hot. Wait staff was helpful and friendly specifically Mithun and Kadek. They wer attentive and explained dining options very well. The headwaiter (Rochand?) always stopped by to see how we were doing. The windjammer always had wonderful selections and tables were cleared quickly which was nice during busy periods in order to find a table. We could always find something new to try.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Rock climbing, Spa treatments, yoga class, pub quizes. We enjoyed each experience. By the end of the cruise the pub quiz in needed to be held in a bigger venue than the Brass and Bock as it had quite a following.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows we saw were good and the hosts for quizes were friendly

Children's Programs

we did not have children participating in children's activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As mentioned above, Mithun and Kadek were wonderful MDR servers. Arturo, our room steward was attentive and friendly. We specifically asked about a mattress topper we had requested a month in advance and when we next entered our room, the bed was made up with the topper. The bar staff at Schooner was wonderful and helpful suggesting drinks. They quickly remembered what we liked and noted we were visiting around the same time every day. Roderick was especially helpful as we saw him most often but observed other bar tenders showing the same time and attention to other cusotmers. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Bianca Cuce and Kunduz Amatova were two standouts at guest services that quickly worked through a couple questions/issue we noted with our account, relieving stress before it started.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise, the ship never felt too large or too small for the amount of people on board, except when everyone wanted to participate in a pub quiz. luckily there were other activities or bars to attend.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
we received room changed from a bid to room 7608. We loved the balcony room on the seventh floor which just added to our cruising experience. The room was spacious and clean. Arturo did a wonderful job throughout the cruise. I will note the online videos of the room from youtube incorrectly identify room 6708 and 7608. Not sure if this is something you can assist with.

Ship tip

Be aware there are peak times for dining in Windjammer so be prepared for a crowd but be patient and remember you're on vacation the staff does a wonderful job of keeping tables clean.

We only did the glacier excursion but some did both the glacier and the skylift. Do both if you can.

we visited on a national holiday, so many places were closed but we were able to walk out to a couple of sites and the local parade was very cool cultural experience. People were kind.
