If you don't mind bad food, sub-par service, seeing dirty dishes littering the hallway most of the day, and double the cost, this is the cruise line for you. If you sailed on Royal ore-covid, know that your experience will be vastly different. (We've done 3 sailings post-COVID and sadly they have gotten worse and worse)

Fine.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The food was horrible. Many things inedible.
Onboard Activities

enjoyed iFly, but frustrating that pre-cruise sold out quickly, then inconsisent information about the complimentary flights. The cost they charge for 1 picture was crazy - close to $40!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Rookie, the juggler, We Will Rock You - all great.
Shows in the Music Hall could have been better if they paid attention to the sound system.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
super MEH service. Which was a HUGE disappointment since that's one area they had always excelled in.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
also meh, but knew that when we booked.
The snorkel gear rental fees were about double what they should have been given the items are used.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room itself was fine. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the room for you, even though there are cabins above and below.
Every time a neighbor flushes the toilet, you will hear it.
You know the sound a coin makes in the dryer when you don't realize its there? Yep, that's what we heard for the majority of the cruise.
FYI since the room is in the front, when the ship leaves port or arrives, the room will SHAKE due to proximity of the rudders. Can't be helped, but something to note. You feel this most of the ship, but way worse in the room.
Ship tip
If you have sailed on Royal pre-COVID, this is a whole new Royal. Doubled prices, way less services, and bad food.
Sorry this cruise was a huge disappointment for you. We were on the ship 2 weeks before you. We didn’t experience anything you did except for some dirty dishes periodically in the hallways. I blame that on passengers.
I do have to agree that post Covid, the cruise industry is not as good as it use to be. But, that is on most cruise lines, not just RCCL. Some of it can be blamed on the cruiseline and some of it is out of their control.
