The ship had lots of activities and you could do all or nothing. The ports had lots of do on your own opportunities. The food was good and the room are comfortable. I would do this itinerary again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We arrived on time and check in was smooth. We were put in a holding area for 5 minutes or so before boarding.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Service was excellent in the main dr. Izumi food was good. Wonderland was unique but the service was a little slower than in the main. Windjammer buffet had lots of food but pretty much the same everyday.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Two indoor pools are awesome, especially when it is winter at home port. Ifly was good but only free on port days. North star was a bit tame. Flow rider was great to watch. Seaplex had bumper cars and roller skating.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Orchestra was great. The we will rock show was great music and dancing. Headliners were also good. The gift lack story but dancing was good. Spectra cabaret was odd. Good music and dancing. Singing not so good and lacked story.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Great Stewart's and waiters in the main.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Clean and tidy. The only draw back was no chairs on 5 outside unless you smoked or paid to eat at Jaimie italian.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice size and had a class shower door so no curtains to attack you in the shower. Wish the mirror at the desk was brighter. Normally make up can be done sitting at the desk but it was too dark.
Ship tip
Skip paying for specialty dining and stick to the main dining. The experience is not worth the cost.
I was on the same cruise. My 3rd time on the Anthem, everything was awesome 👍. The only thing I'm starting to notice is Royal Caribbean is starting to nickel and dime us all to much. I will still absolutely cruise with Royal, I will be back on the Anthem for the Transatlantic cruise in October for 14 nights. But I agree the specialty dining is a bit overpriced. I was able to get things in the MDR that they serve in specialty dining just by asking. I got the meat and cheese platter that they serve in Jamie's in MDR. My waiter got me the lobster at no charge day 3 in the cruise. Don't be afraid to ask your waiter.
