Cruise was good...but could have been much better. RCL has dipped in quality and service and it is very apparent.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was good. Got there early, got on ship early. Cape Liberty is a great port!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
For EVERY meal that we ate at the dining room, something was wrong. Missing items, extra items specifically requsted to remove, cold food...always SOMETHING. Waiters vanished after food was brought so no rectification... sad. Specialty restaurants were better in regards to service, but still had their issues. Only food to get late nite is Sorrentos pizza or room service...what happended to the days when there were midnight buffets? Not the RCL of days past.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Did someone say trivia? It seems like thats all there was to do on the boat. Rock climbing, flowrider were good..but long lines...to be expected I guess. Couldnt get into the ifly as it was booked up.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Shows are good...but havent changed in years on the Anthem. Rock of Ages and The Gift are great...the first time you saw them. Repeat guests will get the same shows from years ago. The onboard bands (Fan Halen and Billboard Band) were good...but got repetitive after a while.
Children's Programs
Didnt use
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Overall very good. Waiters in dining room disappeared after food was dropped off.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Nice boat with good venues.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Junior suite was well worth it. Much more room. Beds were HORRIBLE. Don't let them tell you they are 'luxury' mattresses.... they are not. The pullout sofa was nothing more than a 2 inch mattress on top of plywood....my back still hurts!
Ship tip
If you've been on it before..skip it and find another ship or cruiseline... While it is a nice ship, it needs a little refurb and some new activities and shows.
Whoa! Whenever someone talks about midnight buffets, they are going wayyyyy back. Most people complain now how much everything has dropped since the pandemic. Prior to that, everyone was complaining how much things had dropped since the old days. If this keeps up everyone's going to have to bring a sack lunch on to the ship.
