Review summary

Average overall, ship not very elegant, massive pressure in shops to buy very expensive items. caught covid, take care,

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast process, no problem.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Lack of support for people with special needs, staff too busy to be attentive. Food is generally good, if you can eat it that is.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Everything is geared towards children..

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Very good, with the exception of the awful "spectra's caberet" god knows what that was all about

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Mainly friendly, didn't see our cabin steward much..

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
This is where it fails, nobody was covid cleaning surfaces, enforcement of hand washing wasn't working, sharing of utensils can easily spread disease. There was a covid outbreak myself being a victim

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Too small, felt cramped, decor basic, balcony very small, bathroom small, shower was good though.. Bed is near bathroom, I prefer the bed to be near the balcony, bed is surrounded by wardrobes, cannot see the sea..

Ship tip

Be very very careful, Covid is rife, we were very careful, washed hands, sanitised, sat at back of theatre wire masks on buses etc, still caught covid, not enough is being done to protect us and the ship was crowded..

Cruise 1st, I tested positive on day 7 of 9, sea days on the way back, I think I know when I caught it, I was in the lift going from deck 14 to 4 with an old boy coughing his head off, that was day 3, as for the port days I actually followed the law to wear your mask in the terminals and on any buses..

I note that you gave a star rating to each port of call, did you only come down with COVID-19 after your final port? How do you know you caught COVID-19 on board?

Such a shame to get Covid while Cruising, I will say though that you may have caught it while ashore, your observations about poor covid protection protocols on-board were, I hope, pointed out to guest relations.

4 cruises (two were B2B) and on the B2B to Alaska we caught Covid, and Holland did a lot of Covid cleaning and care. It is a given that there will be asymptomatic or post test Covid folks that will infect others. And the vaccinations are not a guarantee of not catching it, just a reduced chance and possibly mild to no symptoms if you do. Sorry you were one of unfortunate folks the vaccinations did not work very well on and had to wheeled off. Hope you recovered fast.
