Review summary

We had a large group and experienced some headaches prior to sailing, with Royal Caribbean changing our staterooms with out giving us any notifications. The cruise overall was okay, had we known there would be further restrictions placed on the kids club or other event would would have postponed the trip so that it would have been more enjoyable for all.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
The lines for family with children 12 and under were exceptionally long. They had 2 lines, one for vaccinated children and another for unvaccinated. They should have allowed vaccinated families and individuals go through a similar process, since they had to check vaccination statuses.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
While the staff was always amazing and attentive. The food in the main dining was not impressive, sometimes it was overcooked. They ran out of items during dinner service, so our later dinner service wasn't able to enjoy some of the menu items. The specialty restaurant Chops was just average. While it was a step up from main dining, I did not think the quality was overall any better, not sure it was worth the extra price. Wonderland was good. The visual and creativity of their food was fun and tasty. It was well worth the extra price.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pool was clean and well maintained. They had a lifeguard maintain the maximum capacity as to keep social distancing. The fitness center was clean and the machines were well maintained. The rock climbing wall was also orderly and fun. The flow rider wave pool was fun and the sessions were well worth it. The ship also had bumper cars and during days at sea, they limited the capacity with one reservation for the entire trip to use it. We kids would have enjoyed being able to ride the bumper cars at any time when it was on the schedule versus only at one reservation time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment was good, performers were high energy and entertaining from the live music, to the shows to the after hour parties.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
The Kids Club restricted the hours in which we were allowed to drop off children. The times that my children were in the kids club, they claimed it was boring and un-entertaining. There was a lack of interaction with staff and kids, it that could be due to Covid restrictions.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Super attentive, they would remember our drink preferences and other small things that would make our vacation enjoyable.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
All well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The balcony could use a cleaning as the chairs had a large amount of sea salt deposits and residue.

You can't blame the ship for any restrictions or limits. You should have waited and not gone during Covid. You're lucky the kids club was even open at all. Don't blame the ship or cruiseline.
