Overall our cruise was very relaxing and well worth the wait especially after being cancelled since 2020. To see how everyone spoke nicely to each other and the excitement truly showed.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze…Staff was very helpful. Remember to practice patience. Limited staff with about 2800 ppl trying to board. Loved the parking lot. Very convenient and walkable, just around the corner. Porters were ready to assist with your luggage. Also, if you’re vaccinated they you will get a wrist band and the unvaccinated received green ones.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
No complaints from me since I didn’t have to cook for the next 7 days.😂❤️ Windjammer’s did get busy so visit the main dining hall for breakfast, lunch and of course dinner and Sorrento’s Pizza. If you have a suite try Coastal Kitchen or order room service since you won’t be charged a $7.95 fee. Specialty restaurants is always good but buy your package online because the staff can be a little pushy. Also, consider looking into a drink package. At least the refreshment package. They do mock tails which was delicious! Soda souvenir cups can be picked up at the pool bar. Just show your seapass card to show that you purchased a drink package.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were ok…A lot of young kids and teens. Bingo could have been better…Some ppl became a bit aggressive when it came to which line to stand on. Staff could have given them better directions as to where to go, stand and purchase their Bingo cards. Pot was only $300 which should have been more from the look of the long lines and the cards went from $10, $20, $30 a card. Ppl were purchasing more then one card.🤷♀️
Entertainment
2 out of 5
To be honest we didn’t go to any of the shows. We more or less walked around, went shopping, visiting the pool decks and avoided large crowds because the mask mandates were optional, ppl took their masks off. We still chose to wear ours.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was happy and the ship was cleaned from head to toe. I always made sure to say good morning, hello, thank you and asked how their day was. Please be patient with them for they’re limited with staffing and we had about 2800 ppl on board.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Anthem of the seas is indeed a beautiful cruise ship. Some wear and tear when it came to the furniture but nonetheless overall a wonderful ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

What can I say…Our Sky Loft Suite was beautiful. I have nothing negative to say about it.☺️❤️
Ship tip
Don’t 2nd guess if you see something you like the book it early before getting onto the cruise. Practice patience and remember to smile, say hi and thank you because believe it or not the small things do go a long way. Also if you can tip then do so. They’re truly grateful for going back to work.
Construction was still going on and if you were vaccinated then you could walk around with your seapass card, vaccinated card and driver’s license. Unvaccinated families had to book an excursion to get of the ship. Anthem was all the way at the end and their were at least 3 other ships there so best advice…”wear comfortable shoes” Also masks were required upon entering stores.
Disembarkation was also a breeze…Wheelchair assist was readily available for my mom and porters were waiting. It took us less then 20mins as I parked on ground level. Porters took our luggage all the way to the car.❤️☺️🎉 Also, either on the 3rd and or 2nd day those who are not vaccinated must take a PCR test before getting off the ship.
7 day cruises will have alot of kids and teenagers on them. My wife and I were on the 11 night cruise on January 31 and no kids and teenagers were on board. My wife and I will only do 10 plus days on a cruise. The longer the cruise the less kids, and a different crowd of people. Much different that 7 dayers. 10 plus dayers are a much more older crowd of people. Not to mention we are still in the stimulus cruises. Once that stops it will be a little different as well.
