This was a cruise that started out with family but ended up with friends since all the family backed out due to Covid scare. The only time I did not feel comfortable was when we were late to the port, and everyone was trying to get off due to being late for shore excursions. No social distancing at all and RC did a terrible job communicating when we would be able to leave and giving us enough time before being told we would be late. While on the ship, we felt very comfortable with the protocols they had in order to protect us.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main Dining, Pizza, 270 Cafe and coffee were excellent! The Buffet had a lot of choices, but the quality was not what we were used to from past Royal Caribbean cruises.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
What was available was good, but there was a lot of dead time during the day that really did not have much going on. I am used to a lot more Triva and other indoor activities, but I guess due to Covid, they reduced this.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All the performers were good with the exception of Frankie and the Dreamers. Frankie was extremely conceded and just annoying to watch. His backups, the dreamers were better than he was.

Cabin / Stateroom

Will definitely book this room again if I get this boat. It is considered an obstructed balcony, but there really is no obstruction. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony plenty. Excellent balcony for a reduced price.
Ship tip
We really like staying on deck 6, Aft sections, because you can get the back door to the 270 area regardless of if it is rooped off or not.
we were late to the port, so we never even left the ship. Royal Caribbean did a terrible communicating this. Giving them 3 stars because I know in the past, Puerto Rico has been good.
We did the submarine and island tour. all was good but was too much and the submarine really was not small for Covid restrictions. Would wait to do after this pandemic calms down
This was my favorite port, lots of color and very friendly people. did the island tour and the driving on this island is crazy! Only take if you do not get car sick and are not scared of close calls. lol
Thanks for the review. Although the parking seems high it is better than across the river in NY where it is $40 per night. Only other option is to use a local hotel that offers park and fly at no charge if you stay the night before the cruise.
I’m guessing there were no cases on your ship? It appears this variant is no more than a cold as far symptoms go so maybe the scare will go away quickly. Glad you enjoyed the cruise otherwise. Thanks for the review.
