Review summary

Overall an excellent experience! I recommend this itinerary and RCCL to all! I plan to sail with RCCL again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest embarkation I’ve had!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great food! All of the food was well prepared and had an excellent presentation.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
A large variety of activities! I did the ifly and bumper cars along with a little shopping. There was much more to do if I had wanted more activity.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I enjoyed all the entertainment that I attended. Some of the best shows I’ve seen on a cruise ship for awhile.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had a great room steward, Josie. I ate most meals in the Windjammer and was impressed with the friendliness and the willingness to help of the staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was fabulous! Great venues and all areas were clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony cabin was well laid out and clean. It seemed to be more spacious than other balcony rooms I’ve had.

Ship tip

It’s a big ship with lots of things to do. Be prepared to walk a good bit if you want to see all of it!

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
This was our embarkation and disembarkation port. All went smoothly getting on and off the ship. I did no excursions here.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
We didn’t do an excursion through the ship here. My husband has a friend from high school that lives in the Boston area and she gave us a private tour. We enjoyed visiting with her and seeing some of the sights that Boston has to offer!

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
We did the excursion Portland by land and sea. I highly recommend it. The sailboat part of of the excursion was a once in a lifetime experience.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
No excursion here but enjoyed walking around the area. Very scenic around the port.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
We went on the top 10 of Halifax excursion. I’m not sure if we saw 10 things but did see some interesting things. The description of this excursion was off. There was considerable walking up and down hills when we visited the Titanic cemetery. The description said there would be some walking but I’m sure we covered at least a mile in the cemetery. Our first stop was at Peggy’s Cove and it was very crowded! So much so that you could barely move in the gift shops and all my pictures of the lighthouse have several other people in them. I would recommend to RCCL that they offer a bag lunch for this excursion. The only place to eat was at Peggys Cove and it was way to crowded and would take too long to get a table. You wouldn’t have time to do anything else. We ended up eating at a McDonald’s at our last stop.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
We did a bus tour that we found on shore. It was about 2 hours of touring around town in a comfortable bus with about 3 stops. I enjoyed the tour!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely easy! We had a late flight so were one of the last to disembark. I hated to leave the ship!
