Review summary

The Anthem was a great cruise for our family of four. We live in NYC so it was a short drive. Left our car in long term parking. Lots to do on the ship or can choose to do nothing but read book in lounge chair. My my kids are 12 and 17. They enjoyed the SeaPlex and the outdoor movies. IFly is not for me but my family loved it. The ports were lovely. The staff on the Anthem was wonderful. Extremely guest oriented. We had a great experience and are planning on going on another RC cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Did not go to specialty restaurants but MDR has nice choices. My kids love the Windjammer. I prefer MDR. Great bar drinks.

Solarium Bistro

3 out of 5

Least favorite of food venues. Limited choices. We went close to 8:00 and there were few items left.

Silk

5 out of 5

MDR staff is very service oriented. Enjoyed our meals there.

Pool Bar

5 out of 5

Bars were clean and service was fast.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We all did bumper cars and air hockey. Daughters did rock climbing, iFly was a big hit, and the stand up surfing. Also, did Northstar. Beautiful views. Would like to do escape room and roller skating but they book fast.

Seaplex

4 out of 5

Kids loved the bumper cars and air hockey. Could use more times for roller skating and escape room. Could not book those.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We Will Rick You was a lot of fun. Spectral Cafe was odd but dancers were amazing and the use of the space in Cafe 270 was really cool.

Solarium

5 out of 5

I love this space. The design is very calm. Lounge chairs, rattan love seats. Beautiful trees. Lovely views. My favorite space on this ship.

Music Hall

5 out of 5

Enjoyed the music hall. Heard the band then played a few rounds of pool.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Terrific staff. Very service oriented. Friendly, helpful, professional. From wait staff in MDR to housekeeping. Hard working crew. No complaints at all. Only praise for a wonderful staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean. I wake up early and there were people swabbing down each corridor handrail. Washing windows. Vacuuming. Swabbing tabled. Very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was very clean. More storage than I expected. Suitcases fit under the bed. Two sets of drawers plus over the bed storage cabinet.

Ship tip

Enjoy it. I loved the solarium. Peaceful space.

We did $7.00 shuttle to HorseShoe Bay. Beautiful beach.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We took a $7.00 water taxi ride to Great Bay Beach. Very calm clear water. Two beach loungers, umbrella and WiFi for $20. Relaxing day at a pretty beach.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
I love PR. Walked to the fort and shopped in D San Juan. Just wish the day was later. 7:00 am to 3:00 pm is not the schedule I want on vacation.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Labadee was beautiful. Beaches to choose from, includes lounge chairs. Rented floating g mats for kids. $19 each. Worth it. Only complaint is the food. Husband went to eat with you get child at 1:45 and they had missed lunch. Wish hours had been posted. Other than that beautiful water and beach.

Disembarkation

No issues. A porter brought bags to curb of garage, we loaded car and were off. Overall, great trip.
