Anthem of the Sea is a clean ship with friendly staff.
Embarkation

Embarkation was simple and fast. It took maybe 15 minutes at the most before we were on the ship.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Let me first say this was my eighth cruise, however it is the first time cruising with food allergy restrictions. I am not only gluten sensitive but also dairy free which greatly limited my selections.
The buffet - tons of food selection for everyone else. The family seemed to enjoy the food. The buffet does have a gluten free area but the selection was rice, a type of stew, potatoes and a meat. That's it. You could have gluten free spaghetti if there was actually someone there to make it. Mornings were eggs or gf crepes. The station was poorly attended and many times I had to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to come out from the back to help me.
Dinner in the dining room was okay. Again my selection was basically shrimp for an appetizer with the exception of one night I had a lentil soup. The entree's were okay, many of them came very dried out. And dessert was limited to the same white cake but with a different fruit on top. Good but got boring after 10 days.
I am glad I brought my own almond milk creamer with me so I could actually enjoy my coffee each morning. I did ask for non-dairy creamer at dinner and was given a glass of lactose free milk. I can not have milk. Someone needs to brush up on dairy free doesn't always me lactose free.
I actually have much more variety at home. So I was slightly disappointed at meal time. But everyone else I traveled with enjoyed their meals.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The solarium was amazing but on sea day could rarely find a seat to relax. Hot tubs were wonderful. My husband used the gym. He said it was okay but limited free weights. We were disappointed that the north star wasn't working the entire cruise.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were good. The Gift was my favorite, We will Rock You was good. Spectras Caberet was odd and not my favorite. The seating in there is weird and for all the shows you need to show up very early if you want to get a good seat.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters were very fun albeit the dining room for my time dining was chaos. I'm not sure if they were under staffed or poorly managed but it was loud and chaotic.
Our room steward kept our room clean and tidy and greeted us every day with warm smiles and happy chit chat.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
For the size of this ship it was always crowded! Never did I feel like there was a quiet little nook to sit and read a book or relax. It was always very clean and tidy which I appreciated. The elevators were always incredibly busy and there was always one or two that were out of order.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was clean, bed was comfortable, had A LOT of storage/closet space. Very happy with our cabin.
Went to Maho Beach to watch the planes fly in. It was so crowded. The food at the bar was good. The bathrooms were disgusting and I'm not even sure that describes it well enough.
This was the first port where finding your ship excursion was so poorly run. No one seemed to know where the groups were forming. Once it was figured out, the tour guide to the forts was super knowledgeable and did an great job. Old town is easy to navigate on your own and would highly recommend venturing out on your own.
Someone needs to enforce the smoking areas. We ended up going back to the ship because people were smoking next to us and right in front of workers and no one said a thing to them.
