Review summary

Overall a great first cruise. We had a lot of fun and we will book another cruise with Royal next summer. The service is top notch, and I can’t remember the last time I had so much great food in one place. I think this ship is great for adults and just ok for the kids. Most kids would probably be happier on an Oasis class ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth, well organized. Getting to the port easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
This would be a five, but I can’t recommend the Windjammer buffet. Way too crowded, and the food was a big step down from other choices. Solarium Bistro is great as is the Chops Grill. I also never had a bad meal in the main dining room.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Bumper cars were a lot of fun, and we never really waited too long. Although the Ifly and observation gondola are nice, you only do them once and it doesn’t take too long. Ship only has one small outdoor pool (other pool indoors and the solarium), no water slides. Kids said they wished there was more to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Every show was amazing. Especially “We will Rock you” and Wanted (The Bon Jovi cover band). The comedian was also pretty funny.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Kids seemed a little meh about the kids activities

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No issues with any staff, and most of the were great.
