Review summary

I really enjoyed my cruise especially when I heard about the weather back home that I had avoided. I did prefer the Theatre on my previous cruise more. It had banquette seating. The Anthem theatre had limited chairs for the plus size travelers so I had to go to every show early to secure a comfortable seat.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation went very quickly once in the terminal. There was a lot of traffic getting there and they were short staffed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Jamie's Italian was great and Chop's was pretty good. The quality of the food in the main dining room and buffet were good. I am a big guy and there were limited availability of armless chairs at the buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I have mobility issues and the actual pools had ladders instead of stairs.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The We will rock you show was excellent. The Gift was visually stunning. A lot of the comedy was at 11 which I find a bit late.

Children's Programs

No kids travelling with me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My room steward was great. I asked for ice the first day and my ice bucket was kept filled every day after that. The shopping coordinator was great and several of the wait staff were excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was a bit bigger than expected. It was also clean and the balcony was pretty big. The room is also conveniently located near the elevators but it was pretty quiet.

Ship tip

You can bring some pop along and you should because it is quite expensive on the ship. Johnny Rockets has a drink fountain that is half the price of cans on the ship.W

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Puerto Rico was bigger than I expected. It was a late arrival though. We hired a cab driver for a tour and he took us on a nice drive around the city. He even took us to the Capitol building which was all marble.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
The shopping was great. The island is still a bit rough around the edges after the hurricanes.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
St. Lucia was very picturesque. You get off the boat and the shopping area is right there. This was the least walking I had to do. I wish I had planned an excursion here particularly something on the water.

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
This one required a shuttle to get to the port. We did get a cab for an island tour. This was a Sunday visit so a lot of places were closed.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

3 out of 5
There were some very scenic places on our island tour but the vehicle provided for this organized excursion was not adequate. It was a clean well maintained van but the windows were not great and we were packed in like sardines.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We were a bit late getting off the ship but when they called our disembarkation number we flew through the gates.

Mike, We're booking for April 2022 and are undecided between 10644 & 10648. It appears that 10644 has better sight lines. Do you know what the balcony on 10648 is like ? My wife is a little apprehensive about the noise from the elevators. Any input would be a big help. Thanks, Mike
