Coming from Australia, then floating out past the Statue of Liberty I thought would be a great experience... but I have to say that 2 years ago I sailed out of New Orleans around the same time and had a better time on the Carnival Cruise.. not by much.. just seemed to make more friends and had an easier cruise. Could be that NOLA cruise was 8 nights and this was 12 which could have been to long.... might have to go again... just to make sure :-)
Embarkation
5 out of 5
WOW!! Getting on the ship was SO easy. No waiting..no lines..just straight on. We picked 11.30 to embark, not sure if it was worse after this time. One problem was the people who bring the luggage onboard broke my husbands handle to his bag!

Food and Dining

The Windjammer was good, same ole same ole pretty much every day. We purchased a Dinning Experience package and went to Jamie's, Wonderland and Chops Grille. All three were amazing. So much food and awesome quality! We choose to eat at 8pm in the dining room on the other nights. Our wait staff were wonderful and the food was good too. Only a couple of disappointment, but you could then always order something else. Drinks took a long time to arrive.
Onboard Activities

We went on the North Star, very very hot in that bubble but the views were amazing. The Solarium (no kids under 16) was a great getaway and all pool areas were clean. I had my hair washed, cut and blow-dried in the Spa and they did a really great job!
Entertainment

We only saw The Gift and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Service and Staff

All staff on the ship were very accommodating, polite, helpful and efficient. Lutz in the Casino bar and Ashish at the Pool Deck Bar were fantastic!! Amanda who tended to our room was a friendly and did an amazing job.
Ship Quality

The ship and common areas were always very well maintained. The only problem we and everyone else on the ship had was the air conditioning broke down!!
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was great, quiet spacious with a very comfy bed. Bathroom was surprisingly big also and we loved the balcony!
WOW!! loved loved loved St Maartens... crystal blue waters, lovely people and great shopping. No excursion just walked around ourselves and it felt very safe.
We did the Flavors of Barbados tour, which was unreal. FYI do not do the excursion hungover!! hahaha. First stop was a beautiful plantation where you get taught how to make Rum Punch Barbadian style, and eat traditional Bajan finger food yum. The presenters were lots of fun. Then we walked through the plantation house. Back on the bus to an old church with breathtaking views of the coast. Was a great day!
We did the St Kitts Scenic Railway Tour complete with rum punches and a choir!! We pretty much trained around the whole island with a great tour presenter. So pretty and informative. Was a great way to finish our Caribbean experience.
Would love to go to Australia! We love your mysteries, like Doctor Blake. We loved the Anthem, also. Positive people like you make cruising the greatest!
What a great review and thank you for your positive attitude. I'll bet you have fun wherever you go. However you lost me when you wondered if your cruise was too long.😉
