Review summary

This was the best vacation I have ever been on...EVERYTHING was on the ship (bed, food and drink, entertainment and getting to each destination). This would cost so much more if having to book flights and hotel rooms, separate meals, etc. Cannot say enough great things about cruising - can't wait to book my next cruise...just have to figure out where I want to go next!

Embarkation

Early check-in was the key. Able to board immediately after showing passport and cruise documents.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in Windjammer was excellent and plentiful. Went to eat at Wonderland - AMAZING! Anna was our server and she was delightful. This is something that was well worth spending money for...I don't think there's anything on the mainland like this. Kudos to the chef and Anna for the delectable experience!!!

Onboard Activities

The Solarium was a quiet place from the main pool and family pool areas. Did enjoy the main pool on the 2nd day of my cruise. Two different activities from the staff to involve folks sitting poolside.

Service and Staff

Our room steward, Caroy, was such a nice guy, always saying hello when he saw us in the hallway and asking if there was anything we needed. The staff on the cruise were very attentive to the needs of the guests and always had a smile on their faces.

Ship tip

Unless you're going on a cruise to catch up on sleep, get up and walk around the ship and find out what's happening each day so you don't miss out on something that you would really like to see or try.

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

We originally had an excursion scheduled for the morning and got bumped to 1:00pm, leaving only 2.5 hours for our snorkeling since the ship was leaving at 3:30.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

This was my favorite port, everything was so beautiful - even though there is still plenty of destruction from the hurricane. The people were so pleasant and wanted to make sure you were having a good visit. We had a private tour (just 5 of us) with our very own guide, Deuce, who was incredible and extremely knowledgeable about both sides of the island. He took us to Scooby's, a Bar and Creole Restaurant on the French side. The food was delicious. We also managed to spend about 90 minutes frolicking in the Caribbean Sea before heading back to the dock. Could not get over how blue the water was here!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

My sister didn't leave the ship as her ankle was painful and she also lost her purse and was trying to find it on the ship. My niece, nephew and I did a 1 hour tour of Old San Juan and new San Juan. Pedro was our guide. We saw the old beautiful and colorful buildings of Old San Juan, along with the El Morro Fort. We did some shopping and stopped for a quick bite. I had mofongo with shrimp, which was delicious and a first for me, but I really wanted to try an original dish. I was not disappointed.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

I did the Dragon's Breath Flight Line. The folks running the zipline were very thorough in their instructions on what to do and expect. You do a smaller zipline first (Baby Dragon) to get a feel of what to do, then it was on to the Big One. It was the most exhilarating thing I've ever done. I am not a fan of heights and I managed to make sure i did NOT look down except when I was moving on the zipline and WOW when looking below at the water and beaches...WHAT A VIEW!!!!!

Gr8 review! We are going on the Anthem this fall for the first time and this has me feeling good. Some people are so hard to please and give negative reviews.

Cruising is the only way to go. All included!! The best part is having a fancy delicious meal in the dining room, as much as you want, and not have to pay at the end!
