Review summary

We have sailed many times on Anthem of the Seas. Unfortunately they don't change the shows that often so we saw Spectra's Cabaret and We Will Rock you for something like the fourth time. Still did enjoy them though as some of the cast members are different each time you go. The ship is starting to see a little wear and tear but is still one of the newer ships in the fleet. Ovedrall we had a great time and highly recommend this cruise

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick. Curb to Windjammer in about 45 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We experienced a few really bad dinners in the main dining room. The buffet was actually better in our opinion. We did not shell out the extra money for the specialty restaurant.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the unlimited class package in the vitality fitness center. These bigger ships usually presents an issue with deck chairs and has even erupted in a few fights.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was really good about the ship. We happened to see an extra "unplugged" session with some of the cast of "We Will Rock You" that was extraordinary. It was added last minute and didn't even make the official compass but it really was fantastic with some great musicians. The Anthem of the Seas band was able to make every show enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We always were greeted by friendly and courteous staff. Shawn and Peiting Li in the main dining room were exceptional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Lots of fun art all around the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Typical small staterooms but they have done a good job with making them seem larger with lots of storage space.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

4 out of 5

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
Still had some damage from two hits from Hurricanes. Not their fault!

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Great snorkling

Castries, St. Lucia

4 out of 5
Beach break we did wasn't the best beach we have been to.

Bridgetown, Barbados

3 out of 5
Long walk into town to find many stores closed on Sunday.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Segway tour well worth the price. We had a great time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Self assist option is great. Off the ship and in an Uber in 45 minutes.

We also find it a bit of a let down that they don't change the shows on their ships. I know they cost a lot to put on but wish there was some way that they could swap some shows between ships of the same class.

We were on Anthem in January and July. I really did not any signs of "wear and tear" worth remembering. Staff was present early and late, cleaning, applying disinfectant, always ready to make our vacation comfortable.

Would you mind sharing a bit about the wear and tear you saw on the ship?

We also had a quick embarkation on our last trip. Hoping for the same in 17 days!

What time did you embark? You said you got to thevwindjammer in 45 min. I have heard people say it is a big boat and a small port and it takes a while.
