Review summary

New England and Canada itinerary has too many and similar ports in my opinion. Anthem is a nice ship but without dynamic dining really lacks anything to make it special.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were met by an agent and our boarding passes were scanned. We were then escorted to the security for suites, etc. It took less than 10 min. to get on board

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We were very disappointed that the Anthem no longer has dynamic dining. Instead the four restaurants now have the same menu and assigned seating. Every few nights the service was interrupted while they played loud Caribbean music (this was a New England and Canada cruise!) and the wait staff paraded around the room.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We Will Rock You and Spectra Cabaret in 270 were excellent. The third show was unintelligible because of the loud blaring speakers.

Without dynamic dinning this is just another large RCCL ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

The layout was unlike any Jr Suite we have ever had. It was square which put the bathroom door next to the bed and the closet next to the make-up table. You could not get into the closet without bothering the person setting at the table.

Always fun. Great shopping on the pier and the boardwalk into the city is great.

Disembarkation

They now make consecutive cruisers exit the ship (CBP rules I'm sure). They make it easier by having a lounge to sit in until it was our time to exit and guided us off as a group. We still had to walk the length of the terminal to had in our forms and walk back. New Seapasses were distributed in the terminal and we were allowed to go back to our cabins when we re-boarded. They did an excellent luncheon for all of us.

Which JS did you have? The spa JS, regular JS, or family JS?

I have been on Anthem twice and I thought that two of the restaurants had fixed time dining and two had My Time dining. I have never had Dynamic dining but I thought My Time is the same except with a static menu?
