Review summary

THe Anthem of the Seas was a total disappointment. We have been on numerous ships and this was definitely  one of the  worst. This was suppose to be special for our anniversary and it was not. The staff was exceptional however, the food was the lowest quality. It was like eating cafeteria style food at a very high price. Johnny Rockets was the best meal and it cost an additional amount, very sad to say. We did go to Chops Grille for our 25 th Anniversary and that was great, again at an additional cost. Did not care for the dining plan, moving from room to room. It is best if a dining time is chosen it is in the same room. The food in each was not up to standards.  Ordered a hamburger in American Icon Grille, was a pre made patty and could not get it the way I wanted. Eggs were also horrible. Speaking with other cruisers on the ship, everyone felt exactly the same way. All in all not the best cruise taken. RC has a LOT to work on to get this up to speed.

Ship tip

We were not informed that we had to book dining and shows ahead of time. Would definitely recommend doing this as there was a lot of chaos for us and many many lines to wait on, waisting valuable cruise time.

We were on the Quantum 3 times and looking forward to the Anthem in three weeks. Looks like this type of dining is not for you. In the future you should just cruise on ships that have traditional dining. As for me I find traditional dining quite boring.

perception people... perception.... cook for 4000 people and see how you do... also recalculate what you actually get for your money... food, room and board, entertainment and port visit... let's come back to reality...

I think you are being a bit, to rash I've sailed on Royal for the past 15 years and I'm a Diamond Crown and Anchor member, and never in all the cruises I've taken, have I ever experienced, anything of what you describe I'm going to be on Anthem in a few weeks , watch for my review!
