Review summary

This was an incredible cruise. We love the ships that the Holland America Line (HAL) have in their fleet! We were on the Maasdam in May, 2018, the Amsterdam in July, 2018, and we already have our cruise on the Volendam scheduled for September, 2018. We just love the HAL and your ships. All of the Amsterdam crew and staff made us feel so special and welcome, and like we are part of the family. It kind of reminds me of being at Disneyland; they are all so happy, cheerful, and they always have a smile on their face. And, they always greeted us and said hello to us, and asked us how our day was going or if there was anything that they could do for us; just exemplary service. I would especially like to recognize several of your staff, who we interacted with on a daily basis, and established a very close bond with (we were very sad to have to leave them, and said our goodbyes with tears in our eyes): Hasan and Yadi (our room stewards - they made sure our stateroom was spotless and well furnished with everything we needed - they made sure that we had fresh fruit in our stateroom every day of our cruise); Wisye (she was our server in the Lido market - she always greeted us with a friendly smile, and every time she saw us, she always greeted us by our names and she always took time to talk with us, no matter how busy she was in the Lido Market - she quickly cleared the dishes from our table when we had finished eating, and she always made sure that our drink glasses were refilled - she helped us with sitting down in our chairs - it is for these reasons that we only ate one meal, one of the gala nights, in the main dining room, and ate all the rest of our meals in the Lido Market, in Wisye’s section); and, finally, Kanjana (she was our cocktail waitress in the Ocean Bar - she was always so pleasant and upbeat, and we really enjoyed talking with her about her homeland in Thailand - and we were able to share our common love for Thai food, and how much we both like the Thai spicy food. Kanjana also remembered our names, greeted us by our names, and she also remembered what our favorite cocktails were on each day we visited). HAL is very lucky and blessed to have these employees on your staff. Thank you so much, and we are looking forward to our cruise on the Volendam in September, 2018.
