Wonderful Memory by goodgolfer1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: American Independence / Destination: U.S.

Seeing is believing. It's not often that we are able to experience the fabulous sights and actual places that all this history had taken place.

Wonderful river cruise. The rooms were spacious, the food was excellent and the shoreline excursions were educational and quite fun. The onboard entertainment was thoroughly enjoyable as well.

Hudson River Splendor by acohen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: American Independence / Destination: River Cruises - United States

The ports along the Hudson were very entertaining and educational, as is the rule on this cruise line. We couldn’t believe our eyes as we enjoyed mile after mile of fantastic fall foliage color. Although we live in the northeast, we have never seen such a display of nature’s splendor. All in all, I would take this cruise again, next year!

Sounded Great But Was the Worst One We've Done by mparkerofpcb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: American Independence / Destination: River Cruises - United States

This is the worst cruise of the 10 (or so) we have ever been on. This ship and this itinerary are not worth your money. And the cruise line will not work with you for unsatisfactory and unsanitary conditions (yes there was waste in the toilet) their disrepair/age caused.

Best way ever to Escape the Summer heat! by diane4art

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: American Independence / Destination: River Cruises - United States

If the summer heat is getting to you, I can think of no better way to escape. American Cruise lines is the best at small ship cruising and Maine is just a fabulous destination in summer. Do you like Lobster and small quaint towns? any interest in Wyeth or Steven King? How about ship building? If you say yes to any of this, then I would check out this cruise.

Great Rivers of Florida - 7 day/night Jacksonville, to Jacksonville by Patflachbart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: American Independence / Destination: River Cruises - United States

All in all I would highly recommend this particular cruise to anyone interested in seeing the lovely riverside ports in Florida. Our stops were interesting, We got a flavor of the history of the area and were able to explore either on our own or by coach with a guide. The options available at the ports were perfect for our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed cruising through the intercoastal waterways and viewing the lovely areas along this route.

PORTS OF MAINE ITINERARY A HOME RUN CRUISE! by cruisetalk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: American Independence

The American Independence has undergone a tasteful renovation this year and it was the perfect size ship to bring the PORTS OF MAINE to its cruise passengers. The staff couldn't be nicer and more attentive (Anyssa and Jake were the heartbeat of the ship)! From the room cabin (staterooms are refreshed twice a day) to the Captain, Eric, I couldn't say enough about this fine tuned crew! American Cruise Line picks the perfect weeks to see Maine - before the cold and snow comes! Add this to your list of future cruises - you won't be dissapointed!

Beautiful Experience by alysk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: American Independence / Destination: U.S.

We've been on Cunard, Celebrity, Viking, and Princess. The experience on American Cruise Lines exceeds all the others, even Viking. The food is of higher quality, the service is much more personalized, and the guest speakers are really terrific. We've also done Puget Sound and the Mississippi with ACL. If you prefer a small and more intimate ship, ACL is the way to go.
