Review summary

If the summer heat is getting to you, I can think of no better way to escape. American Cruise lines is the best at small ship cruising and Maine is just a fabulous destination in summer. Do you like Lobster and small quaint towns? any interest in Wyeth or Steven King? How about ship building? If you say yes to any of this, then I would check out this cruise.

This was definetly a highlight of the cruise. They took us to the water's edge to a lobster bake. Lobster were steaming in huge pots with seaweed and corn on the cob! It was wonderful. we sat at picnic tables listening to a live band and eating as much Lobster as we wanted.

In Camden we went to an art museum and saw wonderful art by Jamie Wyeth. I used to live in Pa near where he painted there so it was great seeing the other side of his work.

Here we did a tour of the shipyards.. This town was known for building many ships during WWII. They are still building ships today. We also visited the Maritime Museum.
