Review summary

My family and I recently sailed on allure of the seas for 4th of July out of port Canaveral and we started out having an amazing trip until we didn’t. My whole family got diarrhea the 3 day of travel and ruined our experience. Some of us were in shows running out of them to get to the bathroom and others never made it out of the room and had to spend the rest of the evening in cabin because of how bad it was. It’s been a week since we have got off board and some of us are still having issues and others have recovered. This is awful and we heard of something spreading on the ships and I called to inquire before the cruise and was told that they were aware but that it was still safe to sell. Obviously it was not if you guys have not resolved the issues or whatever this bacteria or disease is. Our family wants some type of retribution for this. This is not how we want our experience especially when we are celebrated birthdays and it’s supposed to be a great experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty smooth but lines were a bit unregulated

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We believed to get food poisoning as we all got sick and had diarrhea

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Shows were great but actual things to do with were not amazing. The pools were mediocre and the lines to do zip line and florider took so much time waiting you couldn’t enjoy the day.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
So many great performances and shows.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
They started charging after 10 which before it was midnight and they also increased the price from $6 to $10. They didn’t even do any extra activities or make things like our previous experiences

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was mostly great except in the casinos. They either never came around or when they did it was once and took forever

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Such a cool looking ship and it was huge. Not sure about cleanliness as my whole family got diarrhea

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had others people items still in our room. In the refrigerator and the cabinets and so this was an indication of not cleaning and there name appeared on the room as well versus our name.

Ship tip

Make sure you inspect food and drinks as something is not right. We (7) of us had terrible tummy issues and diarrhea

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Staff was rude when dropping luggage

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Cute and lots to explore

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Water park was awesome but food was terrible

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Quick. They want you out!

No one (not any company) is perfect 100% of the time. Things happen - even at home there are recalls for e. Coli - but if you’ve already purchased and ingested from the supermarket, you’re SOL. I will 100% agree that it is a huge bummer that this ruined your vacation. I would be super upset too. I guess my point is this might not even be RC’s fault. It could have been the food source directly - lettuce for instance. It could happen to anyone, anywhere and your party just got the crap end of the deal on that reality. My heart goes out to you that your vacation was ruined!!

Sorry to hear about your experience. If you didn’t insure the cruise w/ travel protection, you’re pretty much on your own. Even when purchasing travel insurance, you need to see what is covered or not. And sadly, just like any other type of vacation, you will be exposed a host of issues, which can lead to sickness. It’s the gamble we take. Wishing you a speedy recovery & happy cruising on your next 😎⚓️🤩❣️‼️

Everyone is taking a risk on cruising and this is not something new. People are still getting COVID either on the ship or when they get home. If you want to cruise this us a risk you take. We love cruising,

Sorry you and your entire family had intestinal issues however I doubt you’ll receive a refund of any kind. Glad you enjoyed your cruise up to that point.
