Review summary
We took this cruise to experience the Icon class of ship and the Allure did not disappoint. It is one of the largest ships which we usually avoid but were won over by the amazing designs of the different neighbourhoods. Central Park is just beautiful with outdoor dining possible at quite a few cafes and restaurants. You feel like you are in a beautiful garden. The Promenade deck has a great urban vibe and unlike anything we have seen before. You feel like you are on a street with bars, stores and restaurants on either side. The Boardwalk has a carnival feel with hotdogs, candy stores, donuts and a diner available. This is where you find the rock climbing wall and Aquatheater. Each area gave you a different feel and experience. What a ship! The food was great in the dining room and service was amazing there. Windjammer food was good but way too crowded for our liking. The Taco place on the sports floor was great. We also enjoyed the Sorrentos Pizza and Doghouse dogs. All those were complimentary. By far the best part was the entertainment. Book your spots in advance because you don’t want to miss any of the shows. Mama Mia was wonderful. Blue Planet was artistically done. The skating show was fun. The comics were hilarious. The Aquatheater show Oceania blew us away. The ship orchestra did an Earth, Wind and Fire show in Dazzles bar that was amazing. So much talent in one ship! The ports were just okay for us. Nassau used to be quaint but is now just one jewellery store after another. There were seven cruise ships in town. Rain drove us back to the ship. If you want jewellery you will like this stop. We will take a walking tour if we return. The island Coco Cay is lovely but we waited to get off the ship and could not find an empty lounge chair anywhere on the island. The tram helps you get around but has no shocks it seems. The fresh water pool is freezing. We might splurge for the private section were we to go again. We went for the ship and were not disappointed. We would go on the Allure again.Embarkation

Ship tip
Make sure you reserve your entertainment choices in advance. We liked the 8th floor since we could get to either end of the ship by walking through Central Park which we loved. You can each bring one bottle of wine onboard to enjoy in your room.
