I boarded the ship knowing that the booking and reservations part of RCCL had dug a deep hole for the ship's staff to work out of. They came close to achieving it.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
I booked two families at the same time and requested adjoining rooms. RCCL's idea of adjoining rooms was one cabin on Deck 14 and one on Deck 6! I made the mistake of NOT using a travel agent and, if I ever cruise with RCCL again I will not repeat that mistake.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We selected MyTime dining and realized that 6:45 was not a good time for a 21-month-old. We Maitre' D. As a result we got to wait until everyone else was seated to see if there was space for 5. Also, the first two nights of 6:45 was an absolute zoo! It was like they were expecting 50 people and 500 showed up. Finally, tried to buy only one drink package (my wife doesn't drink) but YOU HAVE TO BUY 2!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Splash pool was closed for first two days of the cruise and then again on the last day. Also, bought a steam room pass for Day 6 and the staff turned off all the rooms 30 minutes before closing! What the heck?
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Enjoyed Mamma Mia! and Earth! Musicians were enjoyable.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Black light Puppet Show was great; grandson enjoyed it twice.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Waiters were top-notch and totally devoted.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was nice, not tremendously designed but functional.
Ship tip
Make sure you're ready for a crowd the size of a small town!
We always book directly with RC. When we call, we have the deck map up on the computer. We tell RC which room we want and verify any emailed documents against what we discussed (room #, price, OBC, prepaid grats, etc.) before disconnecting. This may not be for everyone, but it works for us......
I do not know about this. Doesn’t sound like the Allure, which when we were on in 2019 it was wonders. Everything was great. But we used a travel agent and we always do.
