Review summary

Overall it was a wonderful vacation. There is always something to do on Allure, the MDR is beautiful and well-serviced. The food portions have gotten comically small, but it was tasty. The downside was the crowds and the surprising charges; like for popcorn when going to see a show. It seemed they want to nickel and dime too much on this ship. Other than that, it was fun, clean, and had great service.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was lovely. Buffets were too crowded, you couldn't find a table most days.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We swam, went to the shows, spa, fitness center. Loved the shows, very professionally done and entertaining. Didn't like the hard push for upsales at the spa. Pools were nice yet crowded.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw "mama Mia" a juggling act, the aqua show and the ice show. My favorite was the ice show, we went twice. Mama Mia was beautifully executed but too much sexuality to be family friendly. Juggler also had too much inuendo. Aqua show was spectacular.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My daughter went to the kids club one day and didn't want to go back. I think it was her age and that she didn't have a playmate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I love the staff, everyone was so kind, cheerful, professional and welcoming. I appreciated the hard work of our room steward and the wait staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very well-maintained and beautiful.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was way larger than we expected so that was a nice surprise. Walk-in closet and large bathroom and double size balcony. Bed was very comfortable.

Ship tip

If you book aft, be cautious of what is above you. Also, walk forward to take elevators or use stairs. Aft was always very crowded.

Disembarkation

Confusing. We had a transfer through RCL but we had to wait in line for an hour and ask a lot of different people where we needed to go.
