A very good ship and staff. Highly recommend. If they would just vary their itinerary we would probably cruise her again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy. Dropped the bags, parked the car and entered the terminal with minimal waiting.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Very good service in the main dining room (we did anytime dining). While the food varied from good to very good, my overall impression was it was under seasoned and pretty bland (no, ol not a smoker). The specialty restaurants were very good and 150 Park was excellent. I was surprised there was nowhere to grab a burger etc while hanging out by the pools. Hint: The adults only Solarium is a great place to have breakfast.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center was even better equipped than my gym back home. Good staff too. The pools were nice but overcrowded except on port days. Due to my disability, I did not do the more exciting activities.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Much better quality and array of entertainment options than other ships I’ve been on. An ice skating show. A high diving show. An excellent guitarist named Chris played in the pub. A New Orleans type brass band. An excellent female jazz singer. The juggler was sort of boring though.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
As a person in a wheelchair, I was amazed at how helpful everyone was. I asked a member of the cleaning crew where the restroom was and he insisted on leading me there and holding the door for me. Every day in the Solarium, a waiter named Ryan would welcome us, direct us to the most accessible table and take my plate (buffet) of selections back to the table so my hands were free for the wheelchair. At the main dining room as I came in I was greeted and a bit embarrassingly, was brought to bypass the line and right to a table.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This is not only a well designed ship, but is creatively decorated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
162 is an accessible cabin. It’s well thought out and makes wheelchair life easy. A ramp leads up to the sliding glass door to the balcony. As the door slides open, a small ramp falls into place on the balcony side. The room is larger than normal so there’s plenty of room to get about in the wheelchair. It has a roll in shower and a fold down shower seat to transfer into. Also plenty of grab bars around the bathroom.
Went on an excursion to a monkey and sloth habitat, an iguana habitat and to a very boring shopping area. No one on our tour liked this shopping stop. Same old stuff.
