Review summary

All in all, a great cruise. Good food, great dining staff. Huge ship, lots of people, lots to do. Downside of Royal Caribbean is so much upselling - even sodas cost extra. Too many specialty restaurants. Kids club costs extra after 10pm. Great entertainment, lots of food, clean ship, great housekeeping staff. The new port staff have lots of room for improvement.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was pretty good. Buffet was a buffet, main dining was usually very good. Samba restaurant was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enough pools to please everyone, we also did rock climbing, zipline, did a couple of the dance fitness classes that were fun. There were lines for most things, but it wasn't too long of a wait.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Latin band was great, caribbean band was great. Mama Mia catered to an older crowd, but was very good. Comedy was great too. The OceanAria was great.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
I had one kid who loved it, another not so much.

Service and Staff

They really need to get it together. The port staff are awful and mean. trying to get a car from the parking lot to the pickup location was a huge hassle.

I recommend you get the beverage package for nonalcoholic drinks. Covers sodas, fresh squeezed orange juice, specialty coffees, and virgin cocktails. Well worth it to me!

Glad you enjoyed the Allure! Yeah they charge for drinks including sodas but I guess that's just the way it is now .

Thank you for your helpful review. Sounds like we will need to roll our luggage to our car in the parking lot, and should not send one of us to bring the car around to our luggage. Good information!

Was this your first cruise? There has always been a charge for soda, unless you bought the package and you can also bring 1 12 pack of canned soda for each person and the children's center there has also been a charge for after 10:00 PM. This is before Covid, so not new. Glad you enjoyed most everything else. We were on the Allure in 2019 and loved it. No complaints.
